We booked this cruise for the ports of call and we were not disappointed! We did a lot of research for each port and I feel like it paid off. Also, getting a great guide for Berlin and St. Petersburg is very important in our opinion. I would research guides not just tour companies. We had two great guides for these ports.

First, about the Sun. We found the food average, nothing great. The seating in the buffet restaurant isn't enough. You usually had to walk around looking for a table. It was usually too cold to eat outside (this was mid June) limiting the seating even more. The service and staff were average. We did learn one thing about cruising - all ships within the same cruise line are not equal. We had just spent 12 days on the NCL Spirit doing a Med. cruise and we rated that cruise a 5. The Sun's service and staff were not up to par with the Spirit. On the positive side, the cabins were bigger. We were not disappointed in the cruise. We loved it but that was mostly because of the ports and the great weather we had most of the time. We also met some nice people so overall, it was a great trip.
