Ship Facts: Allure of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Allure of the Seas Deck Plans
Great Allure of the Seas cruise
Overall, good food and excellent service. Great cruise! Cannot wait to go back (if prices come down)! Need more than 7 days to really experience fully!

Kudos: Great ship overall - loved the neighborhoods and the layout w/ good use of space. We did not feel crowded in most of the public areas (see below for exceptions). Great adult solarium area w/ pool/hot tubs and plenty of seating, and lots of shaded spots! Excellent breakfast danish/pastries in Promenade 24-hr cafe. Lots of soda and club soda locations for those w/ soda card. Fabulous food/wine pairing dinner at 150 Central Park ($$$$$ but great food & service!). The shows overall were great, esp the Blue Planet stage show (but mostly need to reserve ahead of time). Very nice Roll Call gathering, and some of the group offered a Cabin Crawl which gave us opportunity to view other types of accommodations like suites (Junior,Loft,& Aquasuite - amazing!), Boardwalk or Central Park balcony, etc. Great made-to-order salads at Park Cafe!

Excursions:

Labadee, Haiti (private beach)- Very poor service in cabana over water which also had NO "private" access - do not pay to stay in the first cabana over the water as everyone and their brother uses those stairs! Food and drink options on Labadee also disappointing. Beach areas very crowded if you did not have cabana.

Cozumel, Mexico - "Mexican Cuisine Workshop & Tasting" was a great excursion! Learn to make and eat 3 Mexican dishes, open bar throughout, very personable guides, very conscientious of health/safety while cooking. Going to be my new favorite Cozumel excursion (and they do vary the menu from time to time). The beach area to which we had access after the course/meal was crowded, and the buffet redundant since we had already eaten.

Falmouth, Jamaica - "High Tea at Good Hope Great House" very good food, interesting history/tour, although long bus ride was hard on motion-sick travelers.

Disappointing: Prohibition party (just did not live up to expectations - drinks good, entertainment good, food so-so, not much to do and seating arrangement did not encourage talking to others) - would not spend $$ to do this again! Pricing for 150 Central Park - they did not tell us the full price up front when we made reservation (i.e., food + wine + extra palate-cleansing martini (delicious)so it cost a bit more than we had been told. Too many "pay extra" places.

Complaints: DD23 found the 24-hour hot tub open, but no bars open all night! Difficult to determine which eating venues were "free" vs "extra charge". Very crowded in the Windjammer Cafe with tightly packed tables and so-so food. Also very crowded at family pool areas. 24-hr room service has extra charge 12 mid-5am.

Did not try (save something for next time!): flow rider, rock wall, ice skating, zip line, spa, character meals or meets, or any of the "pay extra" restaurants: Starbucks, Rita's, Samba, Chops, Izumi, Giovanni, cupcakes, Johnny Rockets (we opted for the very pricey but pretty fabulous dinner at 150 CP instead.
