My mother and I booked this cruise very last minute as I had some time of work and this just fitted in right,
We have previously only been on P&O which we were very pleased with but this is a different sort of cruise, its a liner and feels worlds apart from the feeling of any other ships
We booked the cheapest room available and got an upgrade to a D2 inside cabin from a D8, it was much bigger than we imagined and was very comfortable, the bathroom was big enough as like ive said before its not like you are throwing a party in there, the bathroom was always well stocked and on the day the toilet decided to break it was fixed within 30 minutes, the steward kept the cabin spotless but they dont interact as freely with passengers as they do on other ships, thats not to say they arent friendly though
The food in the Brittania was excellent,we didnt have one bad meal, though we chose to have brekafast and lunch on the buffet floor (i do mean floor as deck 7 is nearly all food) the breakfast are nothing short of amazing, pancakes to peaches and everything inbetween, there must have been 10 coffees and 26 teas to chose from, free icecreams all day everyday in there too, coffee machines on other decks to use too
The casino was excellent and the red lion pub is a must, their pub grub is amazing
THe speakers are much more intellectual that other ships and are very good, we really enjoyed the pilot that was on there for several days talking about history and then doing the flight from heathrow to new york,
Very well organised departure and the tour that was thrown in of NYC was fantastic, good flight back etc
