This trip was fantastic. We went into this cruise not knowing what to expect, and we had a wonderful vacation.

We were in room 7330 which is considered AFT and just after the "hump." It was a balcony stateroom. The location was fantastic. We used the very close stairs to get just about anywhere with ease and speed. Royal Promenade, dining options, internet room, pool ... you name it... it was a great location. Matt, our stateroom attendant was so-so. He wasn't that great about making up the room, and there were a few times we had to call for towels. Additionally, we put in a standard order for coffee at 7:30am and for some reason it stopped on Wednesday. No big deal... just not the best. The room was plenty big, and our large suitcases fit under the bed. We brought way too many clothes, but we had plenty of space in the room. Our only complaint is the icky smell rising from the sink, shower and toilet starting at about day 4 until the end. Not enough to make you fall over, but certainly enough to notice. I was quite happy I remembered a plug-in air freshener for the room. Overall, a wonderful cabin in a great location.

Food was ok. I can honestly say I wasn't too impressed. Chops was great, and Portofino was good. I was a bit disappointed with the dining room food, but I didn't cruise to eat. I appreciate Jade as an option at lunch which had a nice variety of offerings. We ate at Portofino the night they served lobster in the main dining room, but we heard it was great. The small sandwiches at the Cafe Promenade were tasty and a good hold-over before our late seating, and Johnny Rockets is nummy. So often you hear about cruises for the food, and I wouldn't put the food in a category of a selling point for me. Food was plentiful and always available, but I think I now know I may prefer quality over quantity. The food is certainly not terrible, but I would categorize it as good banquet hall wedding fare. Yep, a few things stood out, but overall just ok.
