Crown Princess - A fantastic Week!

Sail Date: March 2012
Destination: Southern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Cruise was fantastic. If choosing anytime dining, I highly recommend the DaVinci dining room. Go at 7:30pm and you will never wait for a table. Request Elmer for your server in anytime dining. He was fantastic.

The highlight - if you enjoy wine. Go visit the best servers on the ship - Romeo, Henrry, and the sushi chef Victor. These guys are the best and will make your trip special! Sign up for the Stammtisch - with Romeo. It was fantastic.

We boarded the ship and being Elite we entered a private room. Within 30 minutes we were checked in, on-board and in our stateroom. We also really enjoyed the 5pm Elite/Platinum lounge - Captain Circle members are awarded on this ship. Service by Cynthia was outstanding.

Also, we visited the Lotus Spa upon boarding and signed up for the unlimited treatment room - sauna, aromatherapy, steam room and ceramic heated chairs. It was fantastic and so relaxing. A great value and must do.

The Piazza was More amazing - great entertainment. Pizza was the best ever. The unlimited drinks, milkshakes and mock-tails are a must - great value on board $7 per day if you book when you board - another must do!

Loved the aft pool the best. But Movies Under the Stars was fantastic - always something to do - Can't wait to go back to the Crown Princess! Less

Cabin review: Crown Princess Oceanview Double with Balcony Baja 514

Perfectly located - midship and quiet cabin - highly recommend this deck. We had balcony cabin Baja 514 and an inside cabin Baja 520. Both were great, spacious and comfortable. Midship and quiet!

Port and Shore Excursions

Beach Break

(5)
De Palma Island is great for kids and a good excursion for the money. The people are very friendly. Snorkeling is great! Try the snorkeling as soon as you get there. This place does get very crowded when cruise ships are in, but it is great fun. Lots of people, so if you are looking for a quiet place this is not for you. Eagle beach would be much better. Having 3 teenage boys - this was a fantastic option. They were never bored! : )

Cave Tour

(5.5)
Caves are better than expected. 8 US dollar entry. Take the tour - very educational and beautiful.

Distillery Tour

(5.5)
Very simple = yet fun and educational! Free too!

Island Tour

(5.5)
Excursions on the boat fill up fast - so pre-book early. We didn't, but fortunately as we exited the ship we went up and visited with several local tour operators. We wanted to include the caves. The first gentleman we talked to said it would be too busy and he didn't go. Then we visited with Johnie. He said that is where he goes. He knew everyone on the island. When we arrived to the caves we bypassed everyone else and in a few minutes we had our tickets and were on tour. He also was very well versed and provided us with a great education with the history of the island and culture. Johnie offered the caves, a town tour and the Curacao Liquor location. If we ever visit Curacao again we will definitely be contacting him again.

Gorgeous Princess Cays! Kids loved Banana Boat Rides - a definite must do! Fun sitting listening to the music and having a few drinks. Relax and enjoy! Wait a while for the tenders to clear otherwise you will wait in lines. We waited till around 11am and it was perfect and no wait! Enjoy the tender - the water is gorgeous!
