Chose this cruise as a great way of getting to Sydney after a four day holiday in Singapore.
Positives of this ship are:
Very good sized bathroom with ample storage for you toiletries. Great shower quite large with a glass screen.
Excellent food and service in the main dining room and I will stick my neck out here and say it is better than Cunard's Queens Grill. We are frequent Qunarders ...
This was my fifth Celebrity cruise, the third on Solstice. Embarkation in Singapore was a disaster - huge queues and no one really seemed to know which line was which. I'm not sure if that was a Celebrity thing or if it was because of Singapore customs.
Despite having had a multi multi million dollar refurbishment in Singapore right before we embarked it was hard to see. Sure, they have a ...
The itinerary and time of year were our reasons for choosing this cruise. It allowed us to stay in Singapore for a few days and the stay in Sydney at the end of the cruise before going to Hong Kong and back to U.K. The chaos in Singapore due to poor organisation and management for embarking was shambolic. It took two hours despite being allocated a specific time time to arrive.
The luggage ...
We took this unique itinerary with Solstice coming back to Sydney from dry dock in Singapore. Singapore check in was a zoo. The ship was in very good condition. We chose a Celebrity Suite on the hump so we had a huge forward facing balcony. This was our first time in a suite and it was well worth the premium. It felt like a different cruise. The Michael's Club was always enjoyable and the bar ...
First of all, hire a completely new set of customer service members for the Singapore cruise port. The male staff who ushered us was extremely rude. When we went into the port terminal, we didn't know where to go as there was another cruise ship as well. We asked the employee where to go and he immediately told us that the group of people beside us have been waiting for over an hour and that we ...
This was a great cruise up to when we contacted the cough and flu like symptoms. Why oh why do people not cover their mouth and noses when the cough or sneeze. In fact one lady sprayed me in the restaurant at breakfast when she sneezed. The illness we picked up spoiled the last 5 days of the cruise We are back on board Solstice on Dec 9th and hope we don't catch it again
The ...
We just finished the Singapore to Sydney Cruise - post multi dollar investment 'maiden cruise' - very glad to be home.
Based on our two previous excellent cruises on the Solstice, it is very apparent that this once great vessel has 'Lost It's Gloss'. We assume the ship's 'X' (pun intended) factor has been bludgeoned by short sighted accountants.
The ship, what it now has to offer and its ...
We have cruised on the Solstice in 2014 and were looking forward to the same experience, unfortunately the Solstice did not live up to our expectation.
The embarkation in Singapore was abysmal. We got on board just in time for muster but no luggage available. Our room was clean but looking tired. Our balcony table was broken and took 2 days to replace. Our cabin steward was excellent. We loved ...
We had already had a nice long cruise earlier in the year but this one was too cheap to pass over. We had also cruised on Solstice in late 2015 after usually cruising Princess and found it refreshing to sail on a modern spacious ship with a younger passenger list. Ship's staff were very friendly, efficient and mostly went out of their way to help but in the Oceanview Buffet, we thought some were ...
I chose this cruise because I just wanted a holiday. The idea of one flight, an easy 8 or so hours to Singapore and then cruising home to Sydney via ports I had already seen really appealed. We also got an incredible deal and the new improved interent is wonderful. It would be worth paying for if not included. No more waiting and watching the minutes tick by and the costs mount up when ...
