Long time CC reader and finally doing a review. Will keep it short and specific.
Our family of four was on this cruise; myself age 53, DW 50, DS 21 and DD soon to be 19.
Live in Fargo but drove to MPLS to catch a cheaper flight on Spirit airlines. Stayed at the Tampa Courtyard Westshore night before cruise. Nice place, showing age but very friendly and helpful staff. Got a deal on for $95.
Had ...
Having done cruises on Holland America and Royal Caribbean, this one was a bit less than expected. The embarkation was fast & flawless. The stateroom was exceptional, clean & comfortable. Although we had to silence a whistling balcony door. Small bath towel proved perfect for extra weatherstripping. Overall the staff was courteous but not as engaging as other trips. Food service and selection was ...
This is my first attempt after 9 cruises to actually write a review, so here goes. First let me say that it seems the Carnival Paradise gets a bad rap. Nay sayers will be nay sayers, so let them say what they will. This was our experience. We got to the port of Tampa around 11:30 for our 4 day cruise. Check in at the counter was a breeze, we were given our room keys, and assigned a zone number ...
This was my 8th cruise (sailed on RC, Holland, and Norwegian as well) and was a bit worried after reading a lot of negative reviews on here, but I think a lot of people have high expectations on here.
We arrived Saturday to Tampa and stayed the night at Hilton DT Tampa which was a short cab ride to the port. We arrived to the port a bit after 1:00 and were on the ship is less than 30 minutes. The ...
Flew in the day and took the city bus for $2 a head into downtown Tampa where the hotel we were staying with sent there free shuttle (within 2 miles) to pick us up and take us to the hotel. The hotel, The Barrymore, is clean and undergoing some renovations as it was an old Howard Johnsons. Nicely appointed they are trying their best to update the public areas and rooms (doing the best with what ...
On 18 January we returned from our 44th cruise, this one on the Carnival Pride. The Spirit class ships are by far, my favorite class of ship (my wife likes the Dream class best). The dining room food was delicious. The pizza was outstanding and my favorite, while my wife loved the Guy’s burgers! Our cabin (yes, I call it a cabin, not a stateroom) steward, Joey, was fantastic. The Punchliner acts ...
Was aboard the paradise from Tampa to Cozamel and back to Tampa FL in Jan 2015. Compared to other cruises we have been on, this boat was smaller but have to admit the cabins were same comparable size. the food was the usual for cruise food, - dining room was very good. It was relaxing and we had a good time. Shows were very good and the cruise director was great. He was in one of the shows - ...
We sailed on the Pride in 2013 so we could really tell the differences in the upgrades. The ship is a lot lighter and brighter with many new refurbished areas. The staterooms are basically the same although we did have a flat screen tv. The staff on the ship is the friendliest we've experienced. We always stay on Empress deck and love the location. The food was good but breakfast buffet got a ...
This was my husband and mine first cruise. We had a party of 11 counting us. We was so excited but after the ship took off the story begins. When we got on the ship it was vibrating. I thong I was because we was idling. Oh no! This ship vibrated the WHOLE TIME! When we finally got to our rooms to unpack the staff only had 2 of my 4 luggage at my door. I bought polka dot to be different and add we ...
I apologize in advance for the long review! This was my 2nd cruise ever, and my 2nd time cruising on the Paradise in a year. I cruised on this ship for the first time in August of 2014, and again on this trip. I know there are a lot of people who don't like this ship based on her age, appearance, etc., but I am a huge fan of this ship. The night we got back to Tampa we booked another cruise, but ...
