Our second cruise, the first being on P&O Ventura. Liked the ports of call and also trying out a brand new ship sailing from Barcelona.
Having had a great one night stay in Barcelona, the first problem however was our pick up from the Hotel to the Ship. Took a taxi in the end - not Carnival's fault. Embarkation not too bad considering number of passengers involved.

We chose Carnival Vista because it was a big, new, shiny, family friendly ship. We had a fantastic holiday and the ship was everything we hoped for. There were a few little niggles but nothing to affect our overall enjoyment of the holiday. Here are some good points and not so good points about the ship.

We were looking for a family vacation to celebrate our parents 60th anniversary. There was a group of seven ages 18 to 81. The itinerary looked good and we were able to get excellent airfares to Barcelona. We booked this trip 10 months ago and booked airfares at the same time. Our first cruise with family in the Family Harbor area. There were 7 of us - 5 in one cabin and 2 in another and it was perfect for us. The lounge was great for breakfast and a quick get away off the ship in the morning. Also for lemonade and ice cream anytime.

The kids clubs are amazing and our kids loved it.
We had fixed time dining at Reflections and service is so SLOW, the waiters try their best but seems untrained, we got our orders mixed up several times
Food is somewhere between poor and average - not outstanding
Guys burger is a 5. Blue Iguana is a 3+. Lido 3. Reflections 2+.

We were so excited to have the opportunity to experience this brand new ship. On the surface - it did not disappoint. The public areas and facilities were impressive. Our 1st cruise and what a great time we all had, the Embarkation and Disembarkation went really smoothly allowing for nearly 4000 guests to get on and off without too much fuss, Food was off a good standard, Alcohol was very well priced for a cruise ship.
