Two lower beds convertible to 1 king-size bed, bathroom with dual sink vanity, full-size whirlpool bath, shower and additional shower stall, large sitting area, dressing room, private verandah, 1 sofa bed for 2 persons, floor-to-ceiling windows. Approximately 500–712 sq. ft. including verandah.
The cabin was fine. A caution that the shower stall will be a challenge to any generously proportioned cruiser. The bathroom color/decor was dated. Ample closet space. (Next time we go Neptune class, we'll reduce our packing of clothing since laundry/drycleaning is complimentary and good.) Veranda is ample. But, we didn't use it much that close to the Arctic Circle. Read entire member review >>
We had a suite (just the Verandah suite, not the super upgrade so I'm not positive what the category is but it was on the 8th floor) and the room was fantastic! Totally spacious, like a regular hotel room, and the bathroom was larger than our bathroom at home - 2 sinks, 2 showers and a whirlpool bathtub. King sized was comfortable. The tv gets BBC, MSNBC and Fox News, all live. There is a huge DVD library, they have a book and you order the DVD you want so this is also great. I was worried about the outlets, our suite had 4 outlets, 2 American 115V and 2 European 220V, so if you bring Euro adapters you will have 4 outlets (plus one dual in bathroom that I couldn’t get to work). I was afraid the outlets would be all continental European, but they are American as well. This is the best cruise ship cabin I have been in though I have been in newer ones, decor is slightly dated, but it was very spacious with amazing views off balcony. Read entire member review >>
Overall cabin was quite ample and even though we were adjacent to an elevator was quiet. Beds were quite comfortable. View from the balcony/verandah was compromised by life boats and hoists on one side and on the other side view was limited by exterior ship's elevator. Storage in cabin for garments and personal effects was awkward, bed side storage inaccessible due to bed linens. Read entire member review >>
Best and largest (700 sqft) cabin for the money we've ever had, but we did get it at a discount during a pre-cruise upgrade sale. There was some wear and tear visible in the cabin, and the ship needs a major refurbishment, but nothing which interfered with our enjoyment of the cruise. Very comfortable bed, lots of pillows, plenty of space on the balcony, and more than enough closet and cabinet space for 17 nights on board. Read entire member review >>
Westerdam (HAL)-Neptune Suite (cat.SC) 4185. The aft-wrap suite is the main feature of this suite The wrap-around verandah has over 40 feet of running balcony rail an afforded a 260 degree view. The suite itself contained a king-size bed, full-size couch/sofa sleeper, three chairs and a coffee table. Under-bed storage held our suitcase easily. The suite contained six closets and has a spate dressing area. The bathroom had twin vanities and separate shower and spa bathtub. Read entire member review >>
Some highlights were; the room (6177) is a corner room at the rear of the ship. It has a wrap-around deck that is large enough for the two lounge chairs, four chairs, table and ottoman and still not crowded. The corner room is just a little smaller than the in-line Deluxe Verandah rooms but the size of the deck far off-sets a couple interior square feet. It was perfect for going through the locks at the Panama Canal since you could see the entire side and rear of the ship and the process. Read entire member review >>
Fabulous cabin with an amazing wrap around balcony that is large enough to accomodate a table with two chairs, two easy chairs and footstools and three lounge chairs with room to spare. The balcony is completely covered so there is shade available most of the time. Lots of closet space and cabinets, spacious bathroom with shower stall and full size jetted bath tub. Two medicine cabinets and a shelf under the two sinks. A small dressing area and makeup magnifying mirror with closet space just outside the bathroom. The hideabed sleeps one and is very very comfortable. There was some vibration but it was soothing more than irritating. I suffer from motion sickness so I took a Bonine every night and even with rough seas on several nights, I did not have a problem. Read entire member review >>
Beautiful stateroom (but please don't heavily promote it as we want it back on future cruises!) The wrap-around deck, available binoculars, blankets for snuggling up on the deck were just right for people like us who wanted to see it all. Huge, comfy bed, lots of room and plenty of closet space. Didn't even get to try the whirlpool tub because we were so busy doing other things on the ship! And -- hey -- the clock resets itself when time zones change! Read entire member review >>
SC 5191: Quiet, peaceful location, plenty of closet space, under the bed storage for luggage, large, wrap around verandah with plenty of spaces to get away from the wind, and extremely comfortable bed. Read entire member review >>
We had the perfect position midships on Deck 5. We did look down at the top of the life boats. That made for a slight loss of view but overall did not detract from our experience. The balcony and the cabin seemed a bit small. The storage was fantastic. The bathroom was fine, but the shower curtain would have been nicer if it was clear. There is no light in that area and the curtain makes it quite dark when bathing. Our plumbing functioned perfectly, but we heard from other cruisers lots of problems with leaks. We did see engineers frequently in the halls working on other cabins. Read entire member review >>
We loved our cabin. SC-6177 on Zuiderdam, Yes, it was small for a Deluxe Verandah Suite (Someone on CC posted that it is 311 square feet.) but the wrap-around balcony was why we chose it. The cabin was easily big enough for two and exactly what we wanted for our Alaskan Adventure. The location was quiet and at the end of the hall so few people walked past. We did hear the engines a little but in no way was it distracting. I would book the same cabin again in a heartbeat. Read entire member review >>
The veranda is terrific and quiet most of the time. Occasionally music drifts in from sailing away parties on the Lido deck. The room is small to be classified a suite. There is a couch, but you cannot use it easily because the chairs and coffee table prevent access. Read entire member review >>
