1-10 of 22 Windstar Star Pride Cruise Reviews for Romantic to the Panama Canal & Central America
This was our second Windstar cruise, but will be our last. Our first experience with Windstar was excellent. Rooms are spacious, service and the people are terrific, and the food is very good. All the same on this experience as well.
However, our Panama Canal cruise was largely ruined by the complete lack of air conditioning in most public spaces. It was simply miserable to be anywhere ...
My very first cruise ever was in 2007 on Carnival that included an excursion of partial transfer of Panama Canal. Always wanted to do total crossing and Windstar had a reduced single supplement so figured March 2 would be a good time as I had trips scheduled for December, January, and February so March was booked. I could find very little information on this cruise so even though this was last ...
Chose this ship for the small boat experience and unique ports that were promised. Out of the 4 stops 2 were cancelled and we sat anchored for 24 hours at canal inlet instead of one of our ports.
A casino was still advertised on the ship's website at the time we booked but when boarded found out it was pule 3 years ago during the retro-fit. I will say the stateroom and food were excellent.
I ...
We have chosen this itinerary mostly because Bocas del Toro stop - a remote destination to be reached only by boat or by plane.
Due to a alleged mechanical problem, this stop has been cancelled and we spent a whole day docked at the entrance of Panama Canal, watching cargo ships all day long - very unpleasant. There was no plan B for such a huge inconvenient - we could have docked in one beach ...
We were looking for a small ship and Wind Star seemed the best choice. We don't care for the mega ships. Star Pride cabins are suites nearly 400 as ft with living area, walk in closet, bathtub mini bar. Lovely lounges are spacious. Entertainment is live music and port talks, a few receptions. Crowd is mellow. No kids. Long days in port with easy on and off as there are only 200 passengers. ...
This is the first trip review that I have ever posted. I felt that it was necessary because of the extremely negative customer experience.
First of all, I booked this cruise in February 2019. The cruises line claims that you get the best pricing when you book early. Not true. They discounted this cruise right after the final payment date by USD$1000 per couple. When we asked for a refund ...
Chose for autumn colors and small port venue. Captain can’t control weather but after missing the fjord in Quebec and Our stop in Prince Edward Island there was no attempt to make it up to the passengers. No amenities offered. Ship was not really equipped for cold rough weather. Probably should not be used for northern cruises after mid September Times for events and shore excursions were often ...
Our travel agent raved about Windstar, told our group how excellent they were. She is now our ex travel agent. This experience was'nt even close to what she told us.
Most everything was poor, I don't know where to start, but here is my review.
Starting with the positive, the ship was clean, the room was of good size. That's the positive. NOW, for the negative, being genereous the food was ...
We chose the ship for the itinerary and had been on the ship once before in Croatia. Great itinerary then and only 1 sea day.
On this trip, The itinerary was changed about a month before departure, cancelling several experiences due to WHALE MIGRATION. The whales migrate every year so the company should have not been surprised and should have offered other ports. There were 3 sea days...keep ...
First cruise and probably the last.
The list of problems on this ship are too numerous to elaborate. Briefly - no hot water some days, no self serve coffee/tea available - only available with room service after 6:00 pm, inadequate seating spaces for breakfast and lunch during inclement weather, options for meals are severely limited, old and outdated stateroom, poorly coordinated and ...
