Absolutely first class service from all the crew. Fabulous food. Great ammenities onboard. They give you the personal touch and make you feel special. They provided a night out for a dinner in Kusadasi at a venue that was out of this world. It was priceless. A true touch of magic, which we came to expect from Wind Star. If you want to cruise the Greek Islands in style, you can't go past Wind Star ...
We sailed from Venice thru two ports in Croatia (Hvar and Dbrovnik); Kotor, Montnegro; Butrint, Albania; Katakolon, Greece; Itea, Greece; Nafplion, Greece; then finished in Athens. As a side note, Katakolon, Greece is absolutely the worst destination I have ever experienced.
The ship was in need of many, many repairs. The toilets on the Port side of the ship were inoperative everytime the ship ...
To celebrate our 25th anniversary my wife and I decided a trip to Europe would be a special gift to ourselves. We chose the Star Prides Venetian Passages for its interesting ports of call and the intimate small cruise boat experience. This was to be our first cruise experience.
Windstar and Star Pride did not disappoint. The rooms, service and staff were all exceptional and made us feel special ...
My wife and I are ardent cruisers having sailed twenty plus times with the major providers. We have just returned from the 'Greek Islands & Turkish Delights' cruise. This was without doubt the finest cruise we have ever been on. I had read some of the reviews on this and other sites about the ships condition and decoration but have to say that most of the problems we observed were trivial and ...
My wife and I just returned from the Windstar "Gems of the Aegean" voyage on the Star Pride and had a really excellent time. We stayed in Cabin 118 that is a S1 class cabin on the 4th deck (one floor above the main dining room). We had read the reviews on this board and were concerned based on the mixed nature and a recent very negative review. I am happy to report the Star Pride looks great, ...
We booked this cruise in May 2014 when we were on the Windsurf through a program that is no longer available. I believe that the program was called destinations; it provided an additional 5% off of the 5% already given to pervious guests. However, throughout the year, the price was reduced and a call to Windstar enabled us to get the lower price. They have a a new program called Welcome Home ...
We had never cruised before, and I thought that the "brand new" Star Pride would be a good option to take to see if we liked cruising. First let me say that the staff is top notch and five star in every way possible, and in no way does this review reflect on them. Rather, it is corporate management, Hans Birkholz et al, that is receiving this one star rating (and I am being generous). Shame, ...
Our trip started with independent flights from JFk-Istanbul via Rome on Alitalia. Unfortunately, our flight from JFK was late and we were going to miss our connection. Alitalia placed us on a Turkish Air non-stop to Istanbul but it left 8 hours after our originally scheduled departure. The flight was pleasant enough in Business class.
We spent one night at the Inter-Continental which was quite ...
Both ship and it's several facilities were so not ready for this trip. We were told at booking that this ship which has recently been purchased from Seabourn Cruises had had a complete refit....just not so.
The swimming pool had rust surrounding all four walls and during the entire trip not one passenger was seen using it. The three jacuzzi pools were problematic as well. One never got hot enough ...
Do not cruise on this ship until Windstar has totally updated and repaired this ship, which as the crew told us all needs to be done in dry dock. In brief, the physical plant is deplorable.
It is our strong opinion the Xanterra group who took ownership of this ship earlier this year made a poor strategic decision to commission this slightly remodeled vessel realizing the ship was not ready to ...
