This cruise was thrust upon us. We had booked a mid-Feb cruise on the stretched Star Breeze from BCN to MIA but construction delays cancelled that a few days before Christmas. This was our seventh cruisewith Windstar. We departed from Reykjavik, Iceland. Our first stop was at the Faroe Islands. We then sailed to Norway, cruising the fjords and stopping at Molde. I came upon the itinerary Land of the Midnight Sun purely by chance when looking for another family trip, but it was an itinerary we had been looking for, on a small ship, and so we signed up.

My husband and I chose this cruise for the itinerary, which was very interesting: Dublin, Orkney Island, Norwegian fjords, Faroe Islalnds, Reykjavik. Did a circumnavigation of Iceland. Ship was in very good condition, considering its age (but it did have a refurb last May). A few minor things could have been better, tho. Liked our window stateroom - at 277 sq. ft, it was large for a very small ship. Everything in good working order. Asked for feather pillows, and our room steward got them for me.

This is the first cruise that we have taken in the last ten years that did not include shore excursions, wine, and Wi-Fi in the cruise price. This was a very poor value! We booked our own shore excursions at less than half of the Windstar rate for the same tours. The "private event" was very poor - the "magnificent" caves were hardly that.

The Barcelona to Lisbon cruise was excellent. The captain and crew were magnificent. The cabin accommodations were comfortable, ship very clean and maintained, excellent dining in the main dining room.
