Star Pride Panama Canal

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Star Pride

Chose this ship for the small boat experience and unique ports that were promised. Out of the 4 stops 2 were cancelled and we sat anchored for 24 hours at canal inlet instead of one of our ports. A casino was still advertised on the ship's website at the time we booked but when boarded found out it was pule 3 years ago during the retro-fit. I will say the stateroom and food were excellent. I ...

Cancellation of half of the original port of calls

We have chosen this itinerary mostly because Bocas del Toro stop - a remote destination to be reached only by boat or by plane. Due to a alleged mechanical problem, this stop has been cancelled and we spent a whole day docked at the entrance of Panama Canal, watching cargo ships all day long - very unpleasant. We were tired of staying home and have always loved Windstar. Although we were somewhat put off by the COVID restrictions imposed by CDC and other governmental authorities, foreign and domestic, on the cruise lines, we decided to give it a try. It was probably the best cruise we have ever taken (and that is a lot of cruises). We boarded after a mandatory COVID test and stayed in our cabin until ...

We were looking for a small ship and Wind Star seemed the best choice. We don't care for the mega ships. Star Pride cabins are suites nearly 400 as ft with living area, walk in closet, bathtub mini bar. Lovely lounges are spacious. Entertainment is live music and port talks, a few receptions. Crowd is mellow. No kids. Long days in port with easy on and off as there are only 200 passengers. ...

Disappointing; Not Up to Our Previous Windstar Experience

Review for a South America Cruise on Star Breeze

I am not one to write anything negative, but this really was a disappointment. Stateroom phenomenal, food good but not phenomenal. Service good but not like in the past. Exercise room fair -- no elypical was a complaint of many of us. We have sailed Windstar before, my 4th sailing, and we were looking forward to the wonderful small yacht experience with no waiting lines and quiet ports -- ...
