This was our second Windstar cruise, but will be our last. Our first experience with Windstar was excellent. Rooms are spacious, service and the people are terrific, and the food is very good. All the same on this experience as well.
However, our Panama Canal cruise was largely ruined by the complete lack of air conditioning in most public spaces. It was simply miserable to be anywhere ...
Chose this ship for the small boat experience and unique ports that were promised. Out of the 4 stops 2 were cancelled and we sat anchored for 24 hours at canal inlet instead of one of our ports.
A casino was still advertised on the ship's website at the time we booked but when boarded found out it was pule 3 years ago during the retro-fit. I will say the stateroom and food were excellent.
I ...
This is the first trip review that I have ever posted. I felt that it was necessary because of the extremely negative customer experience.
First of all, I booked this cruise in February 2019. The cruises line claims that you get the best pricing when you book early. Not true. They discounted this cruise right after the final payment date by USD$1000 per couple. When we asked for a refund ...
We chose this ship because of the reputation of Windstar and the itinerary offered. We were starting out trip with a few days in Lisbon and wanted to experience the southern coast of Spain.
The Wind Surf is a small ship and the all aboard was called for 4:00. We arrived at 2:45 and were able to walk right on. Disembarkation was equally easy. What was so disappointing was the condition of our ...
We thought this would be an excellent way to see the French riviera. The first location, however, was canceled when the ship, several hours from port, returned to take a passenger to the hospital. The last two ports of call, Roses and Le Levandou, were not major ports and there was not much to do at either one. All but one of the ports required tender services, which took time away from the ...
I love Windstar’s small-boat (148 passengers) approach to cruising, but I found this particular boat, their flagship, to be lacking and I was also dismayed by several avoidable missteps by the ship’s management.
The destinations are a wonderful experience. The Panama Canal, Panama City and Costa Rica in January are absolutely must-do experiences. The destinations are 5+.
Windstar (really ...
I chose this cruise based on my previous experience with Windstar (The Windstar). I was hoping to have the same or similar experience but quite honestly was disappointed. Perhaps I am spoiled being from the Northeast of the US where great food is common place and easily obtained. The food on the Starbreeze never stood out in a positive way in my mind. This particular cruise was more a ...
We choice this cruise to go through the Panama Canal and see Costa Rica. Going through the canal was great. The so called "ports" we visited consisted of tendering a zodiac from the ship to a public beach areas. One stop for a ship cookout, 2 ports with absolutely nothing in the so called "town" and one at a public marina. If you wanted to do anything at these stops it required an excursion ...
First I must say that the ship is very nice. The staff were incredible. Loved them all. The rooms were also very nice, comfortable and clean.
We went on this cruise to see and explore new things. We really looked forward to sailing the Panama Canal. My husband actually called Windstar and talked to Jesse several times. He wanted to make sure everything was good. We booked this trip for ...
Assigned replacement cruise after January Star Pride scheduled trip was cancelled because it ran aground. Management pledged to cover all airline rebooking fees and cost up to $500 per passenger, however after nearly 2 1/2 months of waiting and complaining they finally sent a check covering only the cancellation fee ($200) and disregarded costs incurred to obtain new airline tickets, which was ...
