7 nite Athens Greece, round trip, 9/19 Cruise was fine, not unpleasant. Friendly crew, outstanding food and service related to food. Cabin comfortable but really missed having a private veranda (and just for the record, had one of us been quarantined here, as we observed happening to someone we had met, the same size and layout would have made for a miserable experience). Simple entertainment-evening duo-very enjoyable. Found co-passengers somewhat unsociable, missed the “cruise director” who would have facilitated interaction. Included event at Ephesus awesome. Two ports were cancelled, one shortened several hours, because of wind. Had the impression had been going on all summer. Poor planning of alternative activities, excursions, when situation changed. Purchased excursions costly, did not include all activities listed in descriptions. This was our first experience with a more “upscale” cruise experience and did not find it to be at all worth the additional cost. Although parts of the experience were better, many were the same, at double the expense. Large ships with problems can be uncontrollable and miserable, this not especially better. Believe it is time to return to other forms of travel. Read Less

Wanted a smaller ship for the Greek Isles. The crew was great. The bar service was slow. They needed more bar staff. Meals were adequate. Went to the Crystal Restaurant our last night and my husband and I enjoyed a delicious meal on the deck. Also, the dinner seafood bar b que on deck was excellent. All excursions and guides were good, well organized and informative. Our room 211 was noisy from engine. More then a hum. The room was well organized and suitcases were stored under bed. I would not choose this ship again because the engine noise at night was too loud. See cabin review below for more details. Motor Coaches were comfortable. Enjoyed the Acropolis and Museum Tour when we disembarked. Athens was fun and Hotel Grand Bretagne was excellent. Enjoyed walking from hotel, view from our balcony of Parliament, the Square, the Acropolis. Weather was perfect. Read Less

Both ship and it's several facilities were so not ready for this trip. We were told at booking that this ship which has recently been purchased from Seabourn Cruises had had a complete refit....just not so. The swimming pool had rust surrounding all four walls and during the entire trip not one passenger was seen using it. The three jacuzzi pools were problematic as well. One never got hot enough while a second was in working order every other day. The rooms too lacked a finished appeal. Many of the ports were cloudy or justy and not redone. The food was fair but fairly boring. All of this was negatively effected by the unrelenting push to get more "Chump Change" from every possible venue. From the never ending request to take drink orders at NYC prices plus a manidtory added on tip. Finally in a day and age where travelers demand WiFi connections the only Wifi connection available was at the cost of $100.00 US for a mere 150 megabytes......Passengers were told that the best thing to do was to wait until they were in port and go to the FREE internet cafes nearby! All of this added up to a nickle and dime approach to a First Class Deluxe Cruise..   Read Less

We chose this cruise line for two reasons: small ship and locations that we wanted to go to. The cruise starts in Athens and visits Greek Islands, and Turkish ports, ending at Istanbul. We got to all the ports that were planned and that part of the cruise worked well. The ship was small and that part worked well also. The problem is that the cruise line promotes itself as luxury, great service, and special moments with great pictures and advertisements of features that in reality did not often come to pass. Additionally, the transfer agents that they use in Athens and Istanbul do not fit well with when it comes to great service. Both places, problems developed and were not resolved very well. We also had some problems with the Seattle office of Windstar before the trip began and our travel agent did as well. Once on board, service at times was great, other times, not so great. The excursions in the ports were generally very good, but for some reason, lunch on a full day excursion was almost always very late, sometimes well after 2pm when we had started the day at 7am with breakfast for an early departure. Another issue was the well advertised water sports platform. They picture a small sailboat but that was broken, and that seemed to typify a lot of the issues with the whole ship. Many things had not been fixed that should have been before sailing, even water leaks. I had a list that I left for the hotel manager, but he never responded to me. Likewise the excursion manager said he would get back to us but we had to go to him after his own deadline passed. At one point I asked for a copy of a piece paper be made and that was not possible. These were just typical problems that occurred through out the trip. The staff, not officers, really tried to do a good job, but cannot say the same for the management, starting in Seattle. The nightly reviews of the upcoming ports was great. The food went from great to subpar. For us, we took an Alaskan cruise with Holland America the year before and thought they did a better job( Statendam, 1200 people). Would have gone with them again, but they did not have a ship, smaller than two thousand, that went to the ports that we wanted. This ship and cruise line has great potential as the rooms themselves were great, but lots of work is needed, both physically and managerially. Read Less
