The staff onboard made the trip great and the dining was truly exceptional! Bigger isn’t better on cruises.
"To name the standouts; Anthony (thanks for your hilarious dry humor & wonderful food service), Jearve (thanks for making my Lemon Drops perfect every time served with your sweet demeanor), Shelley (thanks for my four shots of espresso every morning with your gorgeous smile), Aaron (thanks for your all around great hospitality and getting the small crowd going till the bar closed down), Hicham (thanks for the above & beyond on seating & everything else), Michelle (thanks for the never ending cheerful organizing of the shore excursions & dealing with us with humor), Russ (thanks for hustling in the breakfast hours to make hungry cluster of tourists happy), Zarko (thanks for serving us in gift selection & the swing dance) and the infamous Gareth…thanks for the entertainment & knowing who could be joked with and ribbed a bit more with expertise!Great late night entertainment in the bar with brother and sister musician team...."Read More

First Timers - Now Hooked!

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Wind Surf

My husband and I have traveled a lot, but never cruised. We weren't interested in large ships, so our first cruise was on the Wind Surf in May, 2023, Italy and Croatia. In spite of very bad luck with the weather, we loved the experience and are already planning our next Windstar trip. The ship is older and shows signs of wear if you look for it, but that didn't bother us a bit...we loved the ...

Windstar keeps excelling

This was our 5th cruise with Windstar and our 2nd on the Wind Surf. Took this 4/30/23 sailing as it was as far out as our FCC would take us on the schedule. We knew the Spring weather could be a mixed bag (and it was) but that didn't damper our spirits or Windstar's casual elegance. Windstar consistently excels at great staff; they call you by name by the second day, excellent dining options; ...

I know all these ships do pretty much the same thing…travel overnight to the next destination & drop you off for a land excursion that’s just long enough t give you a little taste of the local flare. What made this smaller ship stand out was the AMAZING staff. Not just welcoming, but vibrant and funny personalities that truly made the trip. To name the standouts; Anthony (thanks for your hilarious ...

We sailed with the Wind Surf on Sicilian Splendors ( Oct.6, 2022) The name of the itinerary was incorrect on the form to write this review. We reserved this trip 2020, 2021, and finally we were able be on the Surf this October. Three years of waiting with anticipation and indeed it did not disappoint. Everything about the Wind Surf that we love was out in full force: superb staff, beautiful ...

Wind Surf is a beautiful motorized five mast sailing yatch that can accomodate ~ 342 pasengers and a crew of ~ 200. The crew is what makes Wind Star ships special. The crew is very attentive and make you feel special. The crer will know your name and your favorate beverage in a day or two. The food is excellent in all three resturants. The Stella Bistro and Candles are small speciality ...

Excellent first experience of Windstar

Recommended by our travel agent and we were delighted. Service was outstanding throughout and our food excellent. The 3 restaurant choices gave us all the options we were looking for over the 17 night cruise. The itinerary gave us the best of popular ports and smaller ones that we visited for the first time. The marina was a little disappointing as distance we could swim was limited and no ...

A Windstar cruise has always been on our radar and we were excited to finally book one. It did not disappoint! We booked 15 nights on back to back itineraries Venice to Barcelona and loved all of the ports. This was our first small cruiseline. We may never go back to large cruiseships again! The crew and dining were exceptional. We particularly enjoyed the specialty restaurants and the weekly BBQ ...

My husband and I love smaller ships with a little luxury thrown in. We have enjoyed plenty of cruises on larger ships when the children were growing up but discovered the joys of 5-6 star cruises recently. We chose WindSurf as it fitted in with our dates and embarkation was in our home city of Lisbon. From the moment we arrived at the port we realised this was going to be something special. The ...

celebrating our 20th anniversary on Windsurf seemed the perfect present to each other. We can honestly say all our wishes and desires were exceeded. Wonderful crew, but especially Erickson, Eric, Maricelo, Charlie, who all looked after our creature comforts to the highest standards, and Hasan, who kept our stateroom immaculate every day. The food was wonderful, whether in a French-style formal ...

Our first Windstar cruise (my second cruise (Regent Seven Seas), my wife's first). My wife and I were traveling with six other couples to celebrate multiple 50th birthdays. We were collectively thrilled with our choice of Wind Surf. We had read many reviews on this forum and others and we prepared to be underwhelmed -- no chance! The Wind Surf is getting a bit long in the tooth (scheduled for a ...
