Island Princess Alaska

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Island Princess

Loved the cruise however this ship has seen better days. There are maintenance issues with sewer smells in the stairwells, tattered furniture in public areas and bathrooms that have holes in the doors, with lots of rust all around. Our Balcony cabin was nice and our steward was very attentive. Service was to be expected in the dinning room but nothing above and beyond. Entertainment was just ok ...

friends already booked trip through their travel agent The dining rooms had very good service, but some of the selections were not part of the average American's diet! The ship had many Asian citizens, and the buffet always had Asian food. The lunch menu was extremely disappointing. The desserts were awesome, as was the pizza. The ship was kept very clean. Some of our travel members received ...

Travel Agent suggested it because Princess handles everything in Alaska for tours. Everything well handled. Non of the on board activity suited us, but we did use the free library. We are over 60 but not interested in shows, casinos, playing games. Recommend constant check of on ship credits from customer service - if you don't pay gratuity (approx $13.80 for each meal) ahead is taken ...

Overall I was disappointed with the service we received. From everything I had heard and read I was expecting better service. I felt you are constantly nickel and dimed. we also had an unfortunate incident, we paid for the special coffee card, planning on having cappochino coffees through out the week. First day at sea we had our first cup. Terrible, 3 times they tried to remake it. When we asked ...

We have always wanted to see Alaska, especially the glaciers, so this seemed the perfect opportunity. Our embarkation went smoothie and we found our stateroom easily and we were thrilled with what we found. Unpacking was easy and there was room for everything. The shower was a bit small, but manageable. We had a balcony and it made the trip even better. Dinning was unbelievable. We were ...

We actually went on the 13 day excursion, spending the first 6 nights on land. We arrived in Fairbanks and were happy we did land then sea. The rooms and lodge was nice with a shuttle into Fairbanks. We did the included Riverboat and Gold Dredge and a stop at the Pipeline the first full day and it was an awesome trip with lots to see, do and learn (take a note pad). We paid quite a bit to go ...

Our travel agent told us Princess did Alaska the best, so we chose a 3 day land tour and 7 day cruise. We had no problem boarding the ship; check-in was done while we were on the rail car from Denali. We had our cruise cards in hand as we left the train. Our stateroom B402 was roomy with enough closet space. It was our first time having a balcony and that was great. The bathroom left ...

Fantastic Alaskan Cruisetour

This was my second Alaskan cruisetour with Princess. This summer I brought my 10-year old nephew and we had a wonderful time. We began with a 6-night land tour. Our tour director, Greg, was great. He took care of everything (including dinner reservations) and ensured we all had a wonderful experience. Our fellow travelers were friendly and fun and by the time we exited the train in Whittier to ...

While the Island Princess, and the land tour was exceptional, there is still room for improvement. The person working their internet program did not have hours posted at the internet site, was never there when I checked, and my internet barely worked yet managed to charge me. When I was so frustrated, especially when confined to cabin with the flu, I made the mistake of turning on my Cell Phone ...
