Avoid Princess Cruise Line

From the disorganized check-in process to disembarkation, the Diamond Princess is a mockery of the hospitality industry. When placed on a different deck than on our reservation, customer service simply said they were fully booked and would get back with us and that the option we received was much better and quieter than the original booking. All statements were false. We never heard from anyone ...

We are mid-late 50's and have previously cruised both RCCL and Princess. We had a great time on this cruise. If anyone has previously only cruised in the Caribbean, it is good to be aware that cruises to Alaska are different than Caribbean cruises, no matter what line or ship you are on. The fellow passengers will tend to be slightly older and there are not the pool side festivities ...

I am an experienced cruiser, having traveled on Carnival, Disney, Princess and Royal Caribbean with my family in the past. I have just returned from an 11-day land/sea tour , cruising on the Diamond Princess from Whittier to Vancouver. Overall, the trip was a fabulous experience, due to the magnificent scenery and the natural beauty of Alaska. However, there were some serious disappointments that ...

This trip was a replacement (can you believe this) for a 16 day jaunt from Valparaiso, Chile to San Francisco on Star in March 2011, However Princess for the second time cancelled a cruise from under our feet. It took years to convince my wife that there was more than your standard "warm weather" cruising, so off we went. We stayed with friends in Vancouver prior to our flight(s) to ...

We started with the land portion of our cruise in Fairbanks. Did the Riverboat cruise there which was very interesting and fun. We also had time to check out the Georgeson Botanical Gardens there which were beautiful and only had a $2 admission fee. Gorgeous! From there we went to Denali which was also interesting. We saw moose, bald eagles and beavers. Most importantly, we saw Mt. McKinley! The ...

There were 6 in our group, my husband and I, who had cruised to Alaska in Sept 2007, our 3 grown kids and a friend, who had never cruised to Alaska. We had 3 balcony cabins on the Caribe Deck, C612, 614 & 616. We flew out of LAX on Alaska Airlines on 7-9-10 to Anchorage. We had never flown with Alaska Air but it was an O.K. airline. It was a typical size plane, 3 seats on each side. Of course, ...

When my husband and I decided to book an Alaskan Cruise I always said I would go on Princess Cruise after my many years of watching the "Love Boat" and the one episode of the TV show crusing Alaska I always knew we would go on the "Love Boat" as well. Well wehen I researched the various ships on Princess I wanted a large ship so I had room to walk around and not feel crowded, We chose the Diamond ...

My first cruise eleven years ago was an Alaska Vancouver round trip itinerary. When I looked at the map of Alaska afterwards I realized that I had visited a small panhandle of Alaska, so I had decided when it was time to go back that I wanted to see more of Alaska. I had originally booked a five day precruise cruisetour. My intention to experience a land tour was a major reason that I picked ...

When I am planning a cruise, or better yet have one booked, there are various steps of preparatory anticipation that I go through. There's the looking at the deck plans stage. During that time I mentally walk the ship trying to guess where favorite place for a martini will be. Trick question- the best place for a martini is ALWAYS in my hand. There's the online pre-boarding step, which ...

We had such a bad experience on our last cruise in November on the Carnival Freedom we were going to take a break from cruising for a while. I then received an e-mail from Vacations to go that there were Alaskan cruises available for $299. At that price we couldn't pass it up. The only question that I had was would we have coveralls waiting in our cabin so that we would have to work to get out ...
