28th Princess cruise and I think it's the last

Recently cruised 7 days Anchorage to Vancouver. I could hardly believe the poor food in the buffet, often lukewarm and poor quality, mostly stews it seemed. But the worst was the lack of cleanliness. Railings were shiny on top but I usually avoid the top rail because every other person has touched it. The 2nd row was almost always a sticky mess. This is not acceptable. Buffet on sister ...

My husbands dream vacation has always been to go to Alaska. We finally saved enough money to go. He is handicapped. We took a land & sea tour, May 14 – 26. It all started with the molded wheel being totally broken off when we arrived at our room at the Denali Lodge. It’s very hard to break them off. I did go to the front desk & the baggage department to report it & advise them their ...

We choose this particular cruise because we wanted to see Alaska as late in the season as possible. We hoped to see the Northern Lights and our best chance was mid- September. We spent 11 days on land, followed by a 7 day cruise. Boarding the ship couldn't have been any easier. We arrived via tour bus and from the time we dropped our luggage off to the Porter's outside and to us actually ...

The food was never warm and not very good. Our steward was very friendly. The ship itself was not the cleaness. Poor entertainment 2 nights were ok. Not much to really do as we had sailed on Royal Caribbien and it was clean, good food, and great entertainment.. We loved Alaska but the ground tour the food was very expensive. If recommending a cruise line to Alaska I would not ...

Great ports; cruise ship left much to be desired

The ports were great and Princess handled the arrivals and excursions very well. My husband and I enjoyed the touring and we have no complaints about the way the naturalist narrated the on-ship visit to the glaciers. The cruise ship left lots to be desired. We had a mini suite and paid for club class. The first evening I spent from 11:00 PM to 1:00 AM waiting for a maintenance person to figure ...

ship was old - worn holes in chair in room - carpet had worn spots - carpet was coming apart in doorways - mold in shower - food in main dining room was boring & tasteless - showers very small - the only thing that I can say I liked about the cruise were the beds - very comfortable - doubtful we will ever go on a Princess cruise again - help was not that friendly, almost like they were too busy to ...

Poor to Average Cruise

Cruise was ok but there are major opportunities for improvement. Regular rooms are average. Shower is so small you can't raise your arms to wash your hair without hitting walls and shower curtain. Room attendant was very good and efficient. We always had a clean room. The Restaurant is good. The appetizers were the best part. The service is average to poor. The waiter watched my ...

Disappointed again.

We chose this cruise because of the land tour that we could take in conjunction with it. The land tour was very good: well run, nice facilities. We had been on a Princess cruise about 30 years ago and were disappointed. We thought we would try them again, but again disappointed. We had been cruising on a "more expensive" cruise line. (Please note my explanation at the end why more expensive ...

Below Average Land Tour, and Equally Mediocre Cruise

Our cruise started with a 3 day land portion. Sights were great, lodging and food were not. Rooms at both lodges were equal to a stay at a Super 8 motel, in fact our room at the Denali lodge had mold in the shower. Food was over priced and below average. We did a Back Country dining tour in Denali--don't waste your time or your money. 2 high school students took us back on a covered wagon, ...

CRUISE NEEDS HELP

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Sun

Booked the Alaska Cruise for our 50th Anniversary bringing a total of 18 people!! Rooms were OK but a little tired.....our room, aft suite, was nice with a huge balcony. Service on board was courteous and friendly but occasionally we would get a disgruntled employee. At times there was a fairly significant language barrier. Food was just average to poor at (overcooked, goopy, dried out)......we ...
