Our travel agent told us Princess did Alaska the best, so we chose a 3 day land tour and 7 day cruise. We had no problem boarding the ship; check-in was done while we were on the rail car from Denali. We had our cruise cards in hand as we left the train.
Our stateroom B402 was roomy with enough closet space. It was our first time having a balcony and that was great. The bathroom left ...
Great cruise, my third on this line, and first on this ship. Princess does a great job on the Voyage of the Glaciers itinerary.
Dining was excellent. We had reserved dining at the early seating and really enjoyed meeting our tablemates. Our waiters, Cesar and Giancarlo, took excellent care of us. The food was very good. I was pleased to see that unlike previous Princess cruises, the same meals ...
While the Island Princess, and the land tour was exceptional, there is still room for improvement. The person working their internet program did not have hours posted at the internet site, was never there when I checked, and my internet barely worked yet managed to charge me. When I was so frustrated, especially when confined to cabin with the flu, I made the mistake of turning on my Cell Phone ...
As a very loyal X cruiser we chose this cruise as it was the only one where we did not have to disembark the day after our wedding anniversary and it allowed us to visit both Hubbard and Glacier Bay. X is not licensed to sail in GB.
We did our own land tour to Denali, and glad we did. Stayed in B&Bs instead of hotels, which was great.
The transfer to Whittier was also private and we arrived ...
We enjoyed a cruisetour to Anchorage, Denali, and the inside passage on the Coral Princess in 2013. This time, we chose a cruisetour to Fairbanks, Denali, and the inside passage on the Island Princess. We enjoyed the tour. Princess does a great job of providing lodging, transportation, and luggage handling for the land portion of the trip. I’ve written a detailed trip report of both the land ...
We was on a 12 day Land/cruise with Princess. They did an awesome job of shuffling us and our luggage around. There was a representative that picked us up at the airport and got us all organized. I would suggest to do the land portion first like we did because it is a lot of moving and activity and once you get on the ship you can sit back and relax. The biggest complaint is some of the help needs ...
This is long, but I tried to subtitle each section to be helpful. This was our third Alaskan cruise in 5 years. We absolutely love the peacefulness and beauty of the mountains and forests that surround every passage of this cruise. We truly loved the Island Princess and can't understand the negative comments we have read. This was our 7th cruise and our 4th with Princess. The changes in the ships ...
My husband & I traveled with 10 other family members. This was my 3rd time with Princess but my 19th cruise. Yes I am very blessed :-) We were in balcony cabin A501 on Deck 12. The cabin itself was very roomy with plenty of storage. The bathroom which is typical was somewhat on the small side but adequate for us. The soap & shampoo are now in dispensers on the shower wall. There was separate ...
This cruise aboard the Island Princess was a "bucket list" cruise for us.
We chose the cruise date because the sailing dates coincided with flights we could arrange using our air miles. We flew into Anchorage 4 days before we sailed and rented a vehicle and toured the area on our own, using the Hotel Alyeska as our base of operations. Off-season rates were excellent.
This cruise was ...
This was our 10th Princess cruise, having also cruised with RCCL, MSC, Carnival and HAL. We have been on the Island 3 times and was a little worried with more people from the added cabins, less upper deck space and a sold out ship for Alaska! No worries! It never felt like we were sailing with a full ship. There was always plenty of deck space and viewing areas.
Embarkation was a breeze, ...
