Review for a Alaska Cruise on Royal Princess

First time cruiser. We did a pile of research and determined that Mrs. Cruiser and I wanted to be on Princess on the southbound sailing from Whittier through the Alaska Glaciers (Hubbard Glacier, Glacier Bay). We also stopped at Sitka (Skagway was closed), Juneau, and Ketchikan. All in all, everything was done very well by Princess. Embarkation was very smooth, but in Whittier, there was no ...

Land and Sea pairing was great!

We had taken the Inner Passage cruise in Alaska many years ago and always regretted not having gone to the interior, so this time we took the 7 day land tour before getting aboard the Grand Princess for the 7 day cruise back to Vancouver. The Land Tour: We started out in Fairbanks, where we enjoyed a train excursion to a gold dredge, where we panned for gold and I got enough gold to put ...

First Cruise Post Covid

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Majestic Princess

This was our first cruise since the onset of Covid. We are platinum level Princess passengers and it was our 3rd Alaskan Cruise. We booked this cruise on the Majestic Princess mainly to use our on board credits that we received when our last cruise in February 2020 was cancelled early due to Noro virus. The credits would have expired by end of 2022. We requested our credits be extended into 2023 ...

My wife and I traveled for the first time on Princess to Alaska. We were on the Majestic (June 18th- July 2nd, 2022) and traveled 14 days from Vancouver BC and return. Overall I would give the cruise an 8. The most positive portions were the following: Guest Services- very helpful and always had a smile. They treated each guest with respect and showed patience at all times. Katryna in ...

Alaska is amazingly BEAUTIFUL, Princess Cruises are good

-Don't try to take a quick inland tour before your cruise. Do what we did and take at least a week to see inland Alaska (ride the Wilderness Express on the Alaska Railroad! You will thank me later!) I recommend this be a separate vacation. -The Stewards/Stewardesses and Waiters/Waitresses are AMAZING! But just know ~$15/day gratuity will be charged to your room account daily. That is why ...

We've sailed on Princess twice now in 2022. In April we sailed on the Ruby and July the Royal. I've been wanting to do a Princess cruise for a while now. In the past we've sailed on Royal Caribbean 3 times, Norwegian once & Carnival once. We won't do a Carnival cruise again. We were on the Carnival Valor and that ship is laid out bad! Embarkation: On the Ruby it took 2 hours of standing ...

Majestic Princess review: May 28 - June 4. The mostly good, the bad, and the (little) ugly

This was our first Princess cruise, and we were not disappointed! It lived up to and exceeded our expectations. Below is our summary of the good, the bad, and the ugly. Note that there was far more good than bad, and only a little ugly. The cruise was from Whittier to Vancouver, with stops in Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan along the way, along with cruising near glaciers. The ...

I had been on an Alaskan cruise 3 years ago and loved it.This time was a little different. The room I had was ok. We were with a group of 12. One room had to switch because cigarette smoke was so bad,the air conditioning in another room.Across the hall from one of our group dishes stayed piled out in the hallway all over the floor.(Come to find out sick person) The entertainment was ok. I guess if ...

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Coral Princess

We chose the Coral Princess on purpose for its size and she didn't disappoint. We never felt crowded and the captain was able to get us close for some amazing views of the glaciers in Glacier Bay National Park. The Sun deck was easy to go side to side to take in the views. IMHO...I would not book an Alaskan itinerary that didn't go to the glacier park. We saw whales, sea lions, birds, etc. We ...
