Two lower beds convertible to 1 queen-size bed, bathroom with dual-sink vanity, full-size whirlpool bath & shower & additional shower stall, large sitting area, private verandah, 1 sofa bed for 1 person, floor-to-ceiling windows. Approximately 372–384 sq. ft. including verandah.
Roomy, plenty of room to move around . Double sinks, tub and separate shower (quite small) so ended up,suing tub with shower head in it. Be careful..the shower mat is very small..I slipped off it and flipped out of the tub and onto my back. Injured my ribs and lungs which hindered my walking activities and some tours we had planned.
The internet was TERRIBLE. We paid does rly for use every day, and my husband had a horrible time logging on everyday! And it was SLOWER than a snail. This was before rehab so maybe this has been fixed. I hope as we have a tour planned for Hawaii in 2018! Read entire member review >>
I cannot recommend this cabin due to the noise of rolling carts up above and an incessant buzzing noise in a service area outside of our room. However, the suite makeover was very well done. Our steward was great. He provided fresh fruit and flowers. We sent laundry out twice at twenty dollars per bag. It was returned promptly. My husband also took advantage of the free shoe shine service. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom has double sinks. Read entire member review >>
Beautiful cabin. Tons of storage space. Separate shower in addition to tub shower combo. Veranda was large with a table and two chair along with two chairs a foot stool and small table. Cabin stewards Joe and Mohamed were exceptional. Very need was met before asking! Read entire member review >>
Some things needed updating. The wicker on the balcony chairs was breaking in places, the grout on the floor in the bathroom was getting dark and chipped. TV needs to be interactive with menus, invoice, movies on demand Read entire member review >>
The room was wonderful. Spacious, lots of light and more storage than I have ever had in a stateroom. The balcony was very large, probably 15 feet wide by 8 feet deep. The bathroom had a double sink, a jacuzzi bathtub/shower combination with a separate shower cubicle as well. Medicine cabinets for each sink. The two minor issues with the room were bathtub water on hottest setting was only lukewarm although sink faucets and separate shower faucets had HOT water. This would only be an issue if you are someone who likes to take really hot baths. I do. Second issue was the air vent in the bathroom gave out a high pitched whistling noise that, after a while, became very irritating. I spoke with maintenance about it and they said the only way to fix it was to shut off air to the bathroom. It was apparently inherent in the system. Did not want a bathroom without air so I lived with it. It was not audible in the room, only when I was in the bathroom. King bed was very comfortable.
Room also had a small TV and DVD player. Read entire member review >>
We booked this cruise about a month before sailing and booked a SZ guarantee for a great price. We knew we could get a less desirable room but took our chances. We ended up with 8044 right under the Pool area. We have stayed on the 8th deck (Navigation) several times and would hear noise, chairs scraping, etc. from time to time but this was the worse. We heard carts rolling, chairs being moved and stomping/running that would start around 8:00 p.m. and last until after Midnight. The noise was very excessive.
TV was located in a odd place and you could not watch very well from bed. There was a daily planner folded up under the TV screen that we found out was holding it up to keep it from tilting downward.
Bathroom was generous with the 2 sinks and the extra shower but we thought the standing shower was too small so we only used it to shower once and used the tub for showering instead. Never used tub so did not test out the jets.
Balcony was nice with a table and two chairs plus two chairs and ottoman. They could have put loungers on the balcony because there was enough room. Read entire member review >>
Nice size, great bathroom and storage. We loved the large Veranda and had our family out for drinks a few evenings. The bed was great for ship beds, and I thought the linens and pillows were very nice. It was very nice to have a tub, however, we had a problem with the water temp controls in all 3 rooms and we weren't able to get any cold water to the tub. There was plenty of hot water, it was hard to control. Read entire member review >>
Cabin was sufficient.
Starting to show wear but was OK for one week.
Lots of closet and drawer space. Two desks. Coffee table and two chairs kind of took up a lot of space at foot of bed. Two showers in the bathroom-one very small stall and the other in the jetted tub.
Veranda had a hightop table and two chairs in addition to low table and two more chairs with ottomans. Read entire member review >>
If I had the money I would cruise in a Signature Suite every time! Loved the extra room and the large balcony. The bathroom was great with two sinks and a separate shower. We booked a guarantee and got a nice suite mid-ship. Read entire member review >>
This cabin was spacious and comfortable. It is right at the bow and has a window looking out over the bow as well as a balcony at the side. It is actually an accessible cabin and so has special features for the handicapped. Unfortunately it does not have the features advertised for the SY suites. We were promised a whirlpool bath, double sinks and a 100 sq ft balcony. There was no whirlpool bath, no double sinks and the lighting in the bathroom is quite dim due to there being no lighting at all in the handicapped shower space. The balcony was only as long as those in the standard verandah cabins. As three of us were traveling, we would still have chosen this cabin based on the space. However there is one other major drawback. Since it is at the front of the ship there is greater movement than in the centre plus during rough sea there was a great deal of noise as the bow rose and fell in the water and when the anchor was lifted or lowered. Large, comfortable room. Queen size bed. Had a shower and tub with jets. Bathroom has two sinks and two cabinets for make-up and toiletries. Two dressing tables. Each able had 4 small drawers. Two large pull-out drawers under the bed. Room to store 4 regular suitcases under the bed. Two standard size ship's closets. The life jackets take two of the top shelves. Shelves are adjustable. Closet also has a safe. Room is made-up twice, but more can be requested, there is a "service requested" sign available to put on the outside of the door. Room service is available ; remember a tip for server. Our cabin stewards were very helpful, friendly and available when needed. Read entire member review >>
5002 is a handicap cabin on the port side only 120 feet from the bow. It is nice and large, but does take a little getting used to with the handicap fixtures. This really is not much of a problem though. Being right up in the front of the ship there is more motion than you would have back towards the center so you must take that into consideration if you mind the motion of the sea. Cabin 8083.......great balcony.....BIG 390 sq ft cabin......wife loves the whirlpool tub and separate shower. Magnifying mirror on dressing table is nice touch. Excellent beds, super leather sofa, ample closet space Read entire member review >>
8040 is in between back and middle of ship on the Navigation Deck. Spacious bathroom. Has shower and Bath Tub. Two sinks. Lots of closet space and storage space. Easily big enough for 3 adults. Balcony is big. Bed was very comfortable. Flat screen TV. We had a I Pod Docking Station on the Nieuw Amsterdam. Not on this boat though. That was the only slightly negative we can say about this cabin. Read entire member review >>
Very nice cabin, great balconey, great bathroon double sinks jacuzzi tub seperate shower. Wine and chamapne glasses, only negative is TV was approx 20 inch flat screen, when we had similar cabin on Celeberity we had 40 inch flat screen, since cabin was below lido there was some noice, but it wasn't bad. I started with a VH GTY cabin and for a small fee was upgraded to SS#8061. The cabin was spacious with more than enough storage and closet space for one person. Seemed to be ample enough for 2 people as well. The bathroom was huge -- double sinks, jacuzzi tub, 2 showers..heaven! Oversized verandah with 2 chairs with footstools plus a table and two additional chairs. The only negative was I could hear the scraping of chairs and things being moved constantly on Lido deck above me. Read entire member review >>
8060 - this is a great choice! This cabin is only 3 cabins away from the mid-ship elevators. There was no noise. Good views, great balcony. No negatives for this choice of cabin. Read entire member review >>
