We chose this cruise ( a cruise of a life time) because it commenced in Singapore then other ports where we disembarked at Mumbai then continued to the "Golden Triangle" by other means. We paid £11000-00 for a Deluxe Outside Cabin this was not reflected in reality. The cabin although clean was tired and required a major refit. The daylight curtains I would suggest had not seem a washing machine in many a month. The main problem was with the bathroom. The water constantly ran red with rust daily. this prevented proper washing and especially inconvenient for my wife hair shampooing. The soap provided was laughable, a tablet the size of a small eraser. We had numerous problems with the cabin lock being on one occasion locked out for five hours. The internet on board costing £28-00 per secission was not fit for purpose. It either did not connect or dropped out at any time. The dining arrangements were fine but the quality of the food I suggest was at best good canteen. The service in the premier restaurant was slow and unpredictable. Lecturers were good and entertaining also the shore excursions. I have made theses observations available to the Company whoo firstly dismissed the bathroom problems as not meaningful and offer a rebate on the internet which I returned. Since then I having written again with revealing photographs of the bathroom problems the Company has now offered a 15% discount from my next booking which is meaningless to me as I will not be cruising with the Company ever again and certainly can't recommend their services to other potential clients. A thoroughly enjoyable cruise with fascinating sites, good guides and fine hotels in Athens and Istanbul at beginning and end of cruise. There were a number of disappointing elements mostly related to the ship. The air conditioning in the cabins is pretty primitive and extremely noisy and the ambassador lounge which is used for the lectures is unfit for purpose. The view of the screen is very poor. We were promised that fresh local produce would be used but saw little evidence of this. We ate mostly in the Terrace cafe where lunch was quite good but evening meals were poor. The menu was unimaginative but the most disappointing feature was the poor quality of the ingredients. Fish (cod and perch, how Mediterranean!) was bland and tasteless and many of the main course meats, particularly the veal, were so tough as to be inedible. These cruises are not cheap and we expected much better. Desserts were gelatinous and unpleasant. Wine was included with dinner but rather than being 'carefully sourced' was poor cheap, mostly Greek wine. Better wine was available at a stiff premium. When French wine was provided it was vin de table (the sort of stuff you can buy for a couple of euros in a supermarket) and again not the standard we expected. Most of the excursions were well organised although the timings were not always appropriate. However on Santorini, there was a huge melee and a wait of over an hour for the cable cars back down to the beach. In temperatures of 40C it was not surprising that queue jumping with resultant scuffles took place. Most disappointingly the passengers (who were mostly elderly) were left to fend for themselves with none of the excursion staff present. Although many passengers complained no apology was made by the company and I feel this is unacceptable.   Read Less
