There were conflicting advice about where there was a daily amount added to your bill for tips. When sailing from Australia there are no added costs. We sailed in January 2018. We went to guest relations to check and they confirmed. We did tip our cabin attendant in AU $ and he didn’t mind using Australian currency
The prices on the ship were in US $ and drinks ranged from $8 to $14 for a top ...
This was our first cruise for myself and wife. I had expected the ship to be quite crowded considering we were leaving in peak period but felt there was not much crowding on board. The Windjammer buffet had multiple food areas so you could always walk to a different food station if one was busy.
The staff were all very friendly and polite. It was also nice that no one was expecting tips after ...
Overall, we had a good holiday.
My biggest issue is that the food is hit and miss in the main dining room. Some really good dishes and then some poor ones with a dominance of bland and the unfortunate use of MSG. I often eat fish and it was overcooked on two occasions with once being about right. This is difficult with the difference being as little as one minute but dry fish is terrible. I ...
Took the family on our first cruise and for me its been 35 odd years since last cruising - friends and colleagues warned us of all these nasty experiences and I now suspect its so the ships aren't booked out and prices are kept down.
So a 14 day Sth Pacific journey - a stateroom, a balcony room and an internal room with a virtual balcony. Our suite/stateroom exceptional, good size good balcony, ...
I travelled on this 9 night sailing on board Voyager of the Seas from/to Sydney, visiting Lifou, New Caledonia; Port Vila, Vanuatu; Mystery Island, Vanuatu & Noumea, New Caledonia, with a group of other singles. Overall I had a great time and made some great new friendships. This was my sixth cruise, and I do believe there is a huge amount to like about a cruise holiday. Unfortunately, it's ...
First time in a Royal Caribbean ship I was impressed never a dull moment always something to do or not if that was your choosing.
The staff where always very accommodating and generally where having as much fun as the passengers.
Embarkation and disembarkation was very smooth especially being able to board earlier than expected having flown in overnight.
The entertainment on board was ...
As always when embarking in Sydney it was quick and the whole process took 30 minutes. Once on board you are officially on Holidays. I have noticed that in other reviews it is mentioned about the " Heavy" up sell on Drink packages and Dinning etc Yes there are staff out selling Packages but I found a polite no did the trick. It's not like they chase you down the deck.
Once on we tradionally ...
We sailed to the South Pacific on the Voyager of The Seas. It was our first cruise with RCI and were not sure what to expect but we thoroughly enjoyed the cruise and VOS. I think the ship was close to full capacity with a wide variety of ages and nationalities onboard. There were many families on the cruise and except for a couple of children running through the Windjammer and around the pool ...
We needed a holiday and what better than to cruise with Royal Caribbean. We like the value for money that the line gives. The ice show was spectacular as was the stage shows and we enjoyed the shore excursions.
The conceirge Pretty Shamu made us feel very welcome and looked after our every needs. The waiters in the diamond club were attentive and obliging and always ready with a smile. We were a ...
Although the ship is getting older it gives you the real cruise experience, with something for everyone of all ages, you can't go past that. The shows are just getting better, the kids programs are amazing the night time activities are fun for all. It is a shame the ship can not go to Champaigne bay and will no longer be going to Iles of Pines due to the restricted number of days Iles of Pines ...
