We are Diamond members with RCI, they seem to want to forget about the loyal passengers and only seem interested in Suite passengers. The normal Diamond Lounge has been taken away from Diamond members and given to Suite passengers and have been pushed into a pokey 31 seat room near the Star lounge. A lot of the Diamond members had to sit in the Star Lounge. Seems like they will be altering their tier system due to the increase in Diamond members, this monster was created by RCI so we will have to see what they will do. The Diamond Lounge was a social hub where you could catch up each day, but now it may as well be closed. The gym has been moved from the front of the ship to the rear of the ship removing the inside pool and all saunas and steam rooms and reducing the size of the gym. This was a Christmas cruise which was more like the cruise ship that for got Christmas, there was no traditional Christmas dinners which having over 3,500 Australian passengers you would have thought this would be the main menu item. For the first 7 days there was no enforced washing of hands so people would walk straight in without washing their hands and spreading Noro virus to over 400 passengers, after complaining about this, hello they enforced it on the last two days putting two offices at the entry, well done Royal but too little too late. Heard there were a lot of fights and many passengers 'kicked off' but we didnt see anything. I have cruised with RCL twice now on Voyager and this time around the food, service and overall experience has greatly improved. Our dining room waiters and cabin steward were the highlight of the crew- absolutely awesome. A lot of the shows were not my cup of tea- but hats off to the dancers and singers- awesome voices and moves. Ice skate shows amazing. A lot of activities not my thing but there's heaps to choose from to keep you busy, or just relax- which is what I prefer. Ports of call more than most cruises I have been on, so a good variety of things to do ashore except Mare. Unfortunately due to the weather (and hoard of jelly fish) it wasn't safe to do anything, but mare has definitely upgraded the dock and market, so great to see. Have booked Ovation of the seas for Jan 2019, so excited to see all the extra activities onboard. Crew very attentitive in all areas. Promenade cabin 6305 in a perfect spot too. Got a great price. Booked all tours directly with locals before boarding- all ships are too expensive! Read Less

I am not used to write reviews, I only do it when the product is really good or in this case when the product or service is bad and even more in one of the most important moments of your life that was our wedding day. We wanted to marry in a cruise ship, so the one that suited our dates, was the royal caribean, voyager of the seas departing from Sydney the 23 Jan 2018 With months in advance, we organise, all details with a wedding planner all communication was through emails and some through the phone, when we wanted more details this person did not reply the phone, we called her immediately from a private number she replied (this happened several times, not professional at all), even that all wedding details were sorted. When we boarded the ship, had a meeting with the wedding planner at the ship (different at the one we coordinated by phone), we thought that all details were passed on to this lady, first deception, she mentioned that we had to follow the standard vows (when we spent a week defining our own vows with the lady at the phone) We requested to catch up with the photographer the day before the wedding, even that the wedding planner said all had beeing organised and there was no need. The wedding day, we supposed to receive the flowers (a bouquet (bride), rose (groom), 2 roses (parents) and 2 bracelets (parents)) but we did not received 1 set for the parents, we thought it would look really bad giving flowers just to one side of the family, so we requested urgently the missing flowers and they said the ship cannot provide the extra flowers, as they have already ruined our wedding we requested a refund for the flowers. After the ceremony when we were taking the group photos, the photographer (that we paid for 2 hours) was not ready at all, all improvised, he was looking for a ladder and left all guests (more than 30 of us) waiting in the main stair, and when we asked him for good backgrounds in the ship, he did not know …. We pay $700 for 2 hours of photos and we had just to choose 30 photos …. expecting the photograper or the wedding planner to define this places, and we were the ones directing the photographer and even telling him from which angle to take the photos, after couple of days we met him to choose the 30 photos, he said out of 600, he chose the best 120 … it was a total deception to see our photos, they were really bad. So the wedding day and the memories were really bad. I found really poor the way to manage the changes, during the 10 days sail, it was cancelled 2 island and they decided to go to luganville instead, they offered transport to Champagne bay for $60 transport + $15 entry fee, when outside the ship the transport was $20 tranpsort + $5 entry fee to the beach, I thought that the company could offer that service for free to compensate the passenger for the cancellation of 2 islands, and even more the company wanted to profit from us. When we were asking for water, they just provide 1 600ml bottle per person even we were already paying for the drink package, Royal caribean water should be free. After the cruise we head home, and expecting the company to refund the money for the flowers, but that money was refunded to a different person and when we asked them they did nothing. We have had much better experience with Princess. Read Less

The embarkation and disembarkation was very well organised considering there was over 3500 passengers. Also the tenders were well organised, no waiting around. The food was very good with a lot of variety. It was easy to find a seat in the buffet (Windjammer), which I went to a couple of times, as I prefer to eat in the dining room, which also had a buffet as well as a al-a-carte menu for breakfast and lunch. There is a café open 24hrs which has cakes, sandwiches, biscuits etc. and Tea and Coffee of course. The entertainment was very good. The ice skating show is on a few times during the cruise so no one misses out. Well worth seeing. They also have an adults only show starting at 10.30pm. Usually it is a comedian, so people who are easily offended...think twice. There was plenty of activities on board to keep everyone occupied. The kids seem to be having lots of fun (we didn't take any with us this time... usually grand kids). We went with a group of 10. My husband did buy the premium drinks package and it worked really well for him ( I don't drink). Its $57 US dollars per day about $77 AUD. You would need to drink at least 8/9 beers per day. Cocktails are around $10.00 each on average. The shopping on the cruise is a bit expensive, as everything is in US dollars, but they do have sales throughout the cruise On the islands the locals sell their goods. They do take australian dollars, so make sure you have plenty of small change, and support the islanders. On the whole, it was a fantastic cruise, great atmosphere, great staff. Great for families and adults. Would definitely recommend this ship. Read Less
