Most of our cruises have been 21 to 28 days but this was a 56 day adventure in the South Pacific.
The itinerary was great although a couple of ports missed due to weather and the laid back South Pacific lifestyle!
The crew so friendly, hard working, accommodating and caring. . Cruise director was outstanding as was the captain . After 56 days we were one big happy family.
It is an older ...
I had traveled to Alaska with Holland America 10 years before. This time it was my wife, sister-in-law and myself. Fall can be tricky with weather going to Alaska, but we only had rain the first day in Juneau. By the next day the weather was mostly sunny, and our trip on the Yukon Pacific Railway shore excursion was the highlight of our trip. This is a MUST do if you take this trip. We hit ...
Wow! HAL Volendam really came through! First, our family was excited to find that we were given a free upgrade to a Vista Suite! This made our trip even more memorable and awesome! Second, we were treated with great service, great entertainment, great food, just a great week!
Every morning, my wife and I would take in breakfast either in the MDR or the Lido Buffet with stunning views of ...
I just finished my cruise today so thought to give my honest feedback for the viewers while it’s still fresh . Great experience with lot of food selection.Everyone in cruise ship was nice and always greeted with the smile. Only person who ignored us and at least another party we spoke to was the south Asian bar manager who would pick and choose who he wants to talk to. I think it’s fair to say ...
We were using up the last of the Covid Future Cruise Credits on HA. This cruise had the itinerary & timing for my Wife's Birthday & Mothers Day. The ship has many nautical miles under her keel. but has been kept up to HA Standards.
We were in Cabin on AV at the stern of the ship on Deck 1. It was a handicapped room, but the engine room noise was only a bit of a nuisance in the large bathroom. ...
Our voyage on the MS Volendam was short, but sweet! This ship is still in very good shape. It is scheduled for another retrofit next month.
We flew to Vancouver to join the ship on it's transition from Alaska to the Caribbean. Many people on this voyage were settling in for the extended Panama Canal cruise. We had limited time as we had another trip planed, so we decided to take the 6 night ...
Although the cruise was nice, going through customs at the Vancouver Airport PLUS the registration at Holland America requires a ton of walking and standing. My feet throbbed for two days after getting on the ship. We are both in our 70's and are fortunate to not need a wheelchair. However, there was a lot of unnecessary walking at the warehouse prior to boarding. On one leg of the walk we had ...
We chose this because my Aunt always cruises with Holland. We are really enjoying it. Have a Vista Suite and it’s very comfortable. It was hard to tell from pictures how large it was but it’s plenty large. Tub is small but my 6 foot husband is able to use it. Food is a bit so-so in my opinion but I didn’t really come on the cruise to eat! The portions are small, and I felt that service in the ...
My wife and I are seasoned travelers but we have never experienced a cruise. She choose a crossing of the Panama Canal for our 4oth wedding anniversary. A bit daring as it was 21 days and I am known to get sea sick and/or bored rather easily.....
-Booking was easy with Vacations to Go and Max Richardson (the agent) was friendly, professional and helpful.
Our stateroom on board was # 1922 ...
First, a bit of a disclaimer; my wife and I are retired airline employees and have travelled extensively but our last cruise was about 20 years ago. That being said, after our latest cruise with Holland America, we are now looking forward to our next cruise.
We loved the great communications we had from HAL and felt we were fully prepared for our cruise. The crew was friendly and exceptional, ...
