Chosen as an 80’s Extravaganza on ValiantLady - Virgin’s brand new ship. We were Allocated tickets for 3hours of music entertainment over 11nights! (Couldn’t even choose our own nights - so caused issues if you’d booked restaurant on that night!) Of the five headline acts two had their own individual sets, (Tony Hadley and Martin Fry) and the three female artistes (Toyah, Carol Decker (NOT T’Pau ...
Where do I start I ask myself?
The whole experience was fraught with difficulties.
Conflicting information, 09.03.2022, an email saying we needed a certified negative PCR or LFT (they prefer to call it Antigen) 72 hours before embarkation so we ordered online. 12.03.2022, another email advising we needed to order from their preferred partner at the discounted price of £4.98 which would be ...
We chose this cruise because of the 80s theme. The star performers were very good.
But found little other 80s experience on board.
The staff were very good and often had to deal with Virgins chaotic unorganised operations.
The breakfast systems a case in point. No self service, staff all over the place picking up items from different stations, cold plates, cold food delivered, waiting ...
We booked this cruise as it sounded really great . We booked through Imagine Cruising and it was called 80’s Spectacular. What a let down. We only had 2shows at the end of the cruise . We were only able to go to one show . Loved Tony Hadley and Carol Decker but that was a personal choice. Weather wasn’t great and that wasn’t down to anyone but there wasn’t much to do . We have cruised for over 30 ...
I chose this cruise because it was advertised as an 80s extravaganza. Yes the bands were great but only 3 hours out of an 11 day cruise, definitely not good enough. No other effort was made by the cruise company or the alleged charter company. It took 4 days before eighties music was being piped through certain areas of the ship. The daytime entertainment was great if you enjoyed yoga, working out ...
From day one this maiden voyage was cursed. Imagine cruises promised us an "extravaganza" of 80"s music. Joke! We were told IC had chartered the ship and therefore it is IC I held responsible for everything musically and entertainment wise. We paid them for this farce of a cruise. We had 3 days of 1 hour each shows out of 11 days. After that nothing, zilch. We were all bored shi.less.
We didn't ...
Absolutely terrible cruise from start to finish. Dreadful food, poor quality, most meals were cold, poor service, ran out of foods & drink. Lost 2 port visits. Lack of toilets. No WiFi, sailor App not working. TVs weren’t working everyday. Shambolic disembarkation, 90 minutes queueing major crowd congestion 100’s of passengers now have covid no social distancing, the covid outbreak was kept ...
Things started off badly when VirginVoyages got my name wrong on the booking - even though Imagine Cruising gave them all the correct details. I then had problems with the app that took over 4 weeks for VV I.T. guys to sort out. Fortunately it was sorted out before boarding as everything needs to be done via the app! App was very glitchy throughout the cruise. Piped music too loud in most areas of ...
Virgin Voyages want to be different from all other cruise lines and they have succeeded. Unfortunately for them they are different in a negative way in almost all areas.
To avoid having a buffet, they have The Galley which is similar to a buffet but you give your order to a waiter and they bring it to you. Seems reasonable you would think but everything comes to you and your party at different ...
Cruise was out of this world, so many different experiences so many different tastes. All the restaurants served 5 Star food and the attention to detail by the staff was first class. We sailed on Scarlett and now Valiant and can’t fault a thing. Entertainment was just what we were looking for, unusual with a twist of wacky and again couldn’t fault it.
We danced until the early hours then came ...
