To celebrate our 30th anniversary, we chose the Viking Empires of the Mediterranean cruise and it was indeed fantastic. The Viking ship is beautiful and never feels crowded! The service is impeccable, the stewards are incredibly accommodating and personable, and the entire staff is to notch. The lounge areas are great, especially the Explorers lounge at the front of ship where we watched many a sun set while sipping cocktails. The restaurants are all fantastic and we also enjoyed room service breakfast every morning as we came into port at sunrise. The spa area is relaxing and fun with a unique snow room and cold bucket to experience Nordic traditions. The Winter Garden room for afternoon tea was a relaxing nice touch after a day of excursions. The ports and excursions were just unbelievable on this cruise highlighted by a gondola ride in Venice, the Acropolis in Athens, the sheer beauty of Santorini and the incredible walled fortress of Dubrovnik. We also did pre and post extensions with Viking which were very well run with interesting excursions, highlighted by a trip to Delphi and Olympus. Highly recommend Viking and this cruise. Read Less

Viking Star was the second cruise out of a 4 cruise itinerary. I wasn’t sure it would be our style but we loved it from the first moment on board. We felt so loved and welcomed. The entire crew and staff were visible all the time with a cool towel and drink after returning from side tours. The food was very good but not as good as QM2. Room service was great! Explorer Lounge was our spot for after dinner drinks. The 2 guys that work that area are awesome. We loved that the ship had books everywhere. The pianist Andrea was outstanding along with the slack key guitarist. The entertainment was all great along with the lectures and port talks. We loved the included excursion at every port. Their side tours were very reasonable along with the premium beverage pkg. the spa was great. I got a pedicure and the technician was great. Our cabin attendant was great. We had a balcony cabin. We liked the Nesprrsso in the room. The bathroom was awesome! The large shower and heated floors were s huge plus. Thank you Viking. You finally got what cruisers want! The laundry room worked great. The daily program worked great with our lifestyle. Timing of the daily schedule is important to us due to sleeping times after long excursion days. The expensive excursion to the Vatican was not worth the $. It was not Viking’s fault but 45,000 people were in there on our day. We felt literally pushed thru and unsafe. The tour guides were wonderful and tried to make it bearable. The Panoramic Rome bus tour was great. We loved the itinerary, especially the Croatia stops of Split and Dubrovnik. We loved Corfu too. We also liked the night on the boat in Barcelona. The included tour was wonderful. We had a magical 12 days and will definitely take another Viking cruise. Read Less

We were looking for a special way to celebrate our 35th anniversary and decided on the Viking Mediterranean Odyssey. Neither of us had ever been to Europe and it had always been a dream of mine. We had heard so much good about Viking that we decided to go for it! Had a rough start-flight was cancelled and arrived late missing Venice...but that wasn't on Viking. Once on board, it was all good! The atmosphere on board was instantly calming and made it easy to forget the beginning and enjoy the ship and all the great ports. Our excursions were all very interesting with knowledgeable guides. Viking thinks of everything that you could possibly need and more! I especially enjoyed the breadsticks and limoncello after an all day excursion in Rome. The staff was so attentive and knowledgeable. Our room was kept spotless, the food was unbelievable and there were so many places on the ship to relax and unwind. I was also a big fan of afternoon tea in the Wintergarden. I will never cruise on one of the megaships again -- the size of the Viking ship was perfect. No pushing your way through the casino crowd after dinner or manuevering through the shoppers trying to get a "deal". This was hands-down the best trip ever! Read Less

Viking cruises are for adults who want to learn something about the places they visit and don't want to be "nickel and dimed" for every little extra. Embarkation and disembarkation were quick and smooth. With only about 900 passengers, you're never fighting crowds. The service was exceptional on this ship, with very happy crew members. The ports were a good variety of Mediterranean stops. Because there is an included tour at every port, there was always an excellent guide describing the attributes of an area, telling you the best places to shop, and highlighting additional things you can do after the tour was completed. We chose a couple optional tours, such as the Opera at night in Venice, but for the most part, the included tours were enough. The ship is well appointed, with several lounges. The musical entertainment was exceptional. The band and singers were skilled and worked well together. The variety provided was good, with even a talented cruise director performing one night. By the way, the cruise director was the best we've ever had and we've done dozens of cruises. This is not a ship with lots of entertainment venues for youngsters nor a casino. What we enjoyed instead were very interesting lectures by guest speakers who gave us the history of the places we were visiting and many other TED type talks. I loved listening to these. Our veranda stateroom was roomy enough, but could have used more drawer space. Our cabin steward brought us as many extra hangers as we needed. A nice amenity is the free laundry facilities which are quite useful on a 14 day cruise. The fitness center and spa were fabulous. I used the fitness center every morning. It had lots of equipment, was very spacious, with windows looking out to sea. The dressing rooms were large and included were a sauna, cold dip, large vitality pool, hot tub, snow grotto, and steam room. On the last few days at sea, the snow grotto was closed for maintenance. The food was very good and they were very careful to plan for my allergies. We would definitely book a Viking ocean cruise again. Read Less

Beautiful countries. Some wonderful excursions especially Montenegro. A couple stops were extremely congested. Dubrovnik and Corfu crowds were massive. We missed Santorini due to high winds. Staff and crew on Viking Star were great. Room steward Virginia was fantastic! Food on board and ashore was incredible. We would probably not repeat this itinerary but only because we would like to experience different locales. One of our travel companions had a minor medical issue and the medical and restaurant staff combined to resolve that very satisfactorily. At all times we felt that passenger safety and security were a priority for staff and crew. The cabin was very comfortable and much roomier than we expected. This was our second Viking cruise among the six we have taken. Viking does as well as any of them and better than most. We will definitely consider Viking for future vacations. Thanks to all involved from Viking Star and also from Viking Braggi on our previous cruise. Manfreddi’s was stupendous!!! Read Less

Having loved our Viking River Cruise in 2017, we decided to try the Viking Ocean Cruise. So glad we did. Everything about the ship and the crew was exceptional. The atmosphere, the food, wine, shore excursions, on board activities, it was all marvelous. With only 930 passengers, one never felt crowded and we never had to wait for a table or any type of service. The crew was super professional, courteous and friendly. They helped to create an atmosphere wherein it was easy to make friends with fellow passengers. The cabin design was streamlined and gave a sense of space. Having all cabins with balconies is a huge bonus. Having room service breakfast on our balcony a couple of time was a lovely luxury. The staff in all the restaurants, bars and spa were fabulous. We attended several shows, all of which were fun and entertaining. We have already booked our next Viking Ocean cruise and can't wait for it. Thank you Viking! Read Less

Ship lectures were very good, again the speakers were extremely knowledgeable. All the staff seemed genuinely happy and ready to please. Nothing was too much trouble. Drinks included with meals were plentiful and good quality wines. Restaurant food was first class.. Melt in the mouth steaks, lobster, oysters. Eggs so fresh. We were disappointed that they did not make a fuss of sail away but the captain was good. Shipped left port without us feeling a thing. Entertainment good. Young group were professional. Cruise director had a great voice. Ship ba d good too. Leaving the ship went smoothly although we were very early at the airport. We have cruised with Viking in the past, while this was our first Ocean Cruise (Mediterranean) with them. Loved the small ship size, which really helped to not be overwhelmed by what is already over tourism at most European destinations. The Viking Star ship is large enough to provide for perfect sized accommodations with ample room/balcony space, plenty of onboard amenities and a nice smooth ride for Med cruising. There was no issues/ queues for dinning in either the sit down restaurant nor the buffet style restaurants. With two pools and two hot tubs, plus other gathering places, spread the guests out so you did not feel crowded. The smaller ship allows for docking at multiple ports that the larger ships cannot enter or have to tender; this allowed for awesome sail-ins and sail-outs at beautiful ports like Monte Carlo. Viking really provides for all of your needs and most of your wants in its included cruise fair; most included tours are a good start to experiencing each port (while Viking should vet some of the local guides a bit more, one or two were a bit laborious to the point of us bowing out of our included tour early on). The included drinks at meals were most generous, they provide for several added excursions and ample courtesy shuttles from ports to downtown destinations. The house keeping staff was amazing, providing for your every convenience (extra hangers, ice morning and night, extra bottled water, etc), as well as the restaurant staff, very friendly and inviting. The only area we felt was lacking, was the sit down restaurant meals (we primarily participated in the evenings) which did not live up to our expectations. We have had finer meals on other cruise lines (RC) as well as Viking River cruises, while we felt they did step up the game towards the end of the 13 day cruise. We believe they could do a better job of providing better destination meals considering the ports of call we made (Rome, Naples, Corfu, Venice, etc). Read Less

Dining was open and it was easy to get a table whatever time we choose to dine. No long lines or hassle with reservations. The service and staff was outstanding. Rooms always clean, room service 24x7 in addition to all the diverse places to eat. Seafood buffet nightly was amazing and food in the dining room diverse and tasty. This cruise was to celebrate a special anniversary, our 50th and we wanted a very special cruise to a place we had never been. The 7 Night Iconic Western Mediterranean cruise did not disappoint. We felt pampered in every way. The ship is beautiful. The food was delicious and all of the Star's employees were always eager to please the passengers in every way. The entertainment on board was wonderful. The bathroom in the stateroom exceeded my expectation. It put a smile on my face every time I want in it and the heated floor was such a treat. All of the toiletries were high quality. I didn't have to use any that I brought, which I always do just to make sure. An especially nice perk is that every deck has three washer and dryers for guests to use free of charge, including detergent and an iron and ironing board. I was able to come on board with clean cloths and leave with clean cloths. I would highly recommend a Viking cruise. You will not be disappointed. Read Less

We had gone on a Viking River Cruise, and were so impressed with the quality that we decided to try an Ocean Cruise. We added a 2 day stay in Barcelona before the cruise and a 3 day stay in Tuscany after the cruise. Everything was arranged by Viking for this. Upon arriving in Barcelona, we were greeted by Viking reps at the luggage pick up and they graciously guided us through customs and to our transportation to our hotel At the Hotel we were again greeted by a Viking representative to lead us to checking in to the hotel, and since we were early for our room, he led us to an area where other reps talked to us about possible excursions were could take while in Barcelona. Absolutely no pressure was put on us to take any excursions at all. The rep answered all of our questions and guided us to an excursion that would show us Gaudi sites in town. Our room was ready when we finished. The recommended tour was great, as was the night of flamenco dancing they recommended. We were given clear instructions about where to leave our luggage for the trip to the ship, and that all went seamlessly. At the ship we were again greeted graciously, and given champagne while we waited for our room where we found all our luggage already delivered. We were almost immediately greeted by our steward who answered all our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. The next 13 days were glorious. the excursions were well planned and left plenty of free time for us to explore on our own. back at the ship, the service was amazing. The staff could not do enough for you, and the food....I didn't miss a meal which was the only problem with the trip. Many of the staff knew us by name after seeing them only a few times and made us fee as if we were the only couple they needed to take care of. We visited 4 of the restaurants on board and the food was excellent in each. The 3 days in Tuscany afterward I would recommend to everyone. Bothe the hotel and oyr guide were amazing. Read Less

The best review is....WE BOOKED ANOTHER CRUISE while onboard! Our positives are too many to mention here...glorious sunrises with breakfast on our private veranda are at the top of that long list! Viking is a well-oiled machine...from coordination of airport transportation, embarkation, the fabulous excursion options, how we were organized to exit the ship for excursions, dining options, OMG! We felt spoiled, spoiled, spoiled. Our only negative was the post-extension in Rome. Going forward, we will consider a pre-extension....the post-extension affected our relaxed mood following the cruise where we were spoiled, but I’m sure that was the hustle and bustle of Rome. Wish Viking had offered us excursions in advance in Rome during the post-extension trip just as they did during the cruise as all cruise excursions were excellent. Of the two Viator tours that we booked on our own in Rome, one was phenomenal and one was a disappointment (the most expensive one!). The group dinner on our last night in Rome, that our Viking rep at the hotel coordinated after our arrival in Rome, was a night to remember, so.... more of that please. I personally needed to pre-arrange in advance to assure we took full advantage of our short time in Rome. So, giving us advance options for Rome through Viking would have been preferred. I heard a few others on the cruise who were also in the post-extension trip say the same. We now plan to take many more cruises with Viking. THANK YOU VIKING!!! Read Less

Our cruise started with a 2 day pre cruise hotel at the Hilton Venice which was excellent. We are regular cruisers with this being a first with Viking. We have sailed with P and O , Celebrity, Princess, Royal Caribbean and Fred Olsen. We have to say Viking excelled in everything and wouldn’t hesitate to go with them again if the itinerary was right. Yes they are initially more costly but this is offset with the included excursions which are varied and drinks included with lunch and Dinner. Also free use of the spa facilities excluding treatments. The food is the best we’ve had on any cruise and with the alternative restaurants at no charge this gives you great variety without paying a subsidy. We definitely liked the more intimate nature of the smaller ship compared to the newer mega ships which are getting too big for our liking. Ports of call excellent and overall a fabulous cruise. OK this site wants me to type more so here it goes. My lovely wife of 32 years were considering the world cruise and she said Whoa! Our first experience on an ocean cruise was a tiny ship in Alaska I think it held 60 people. That was an amazing experience and our son was 10 then. Our second was Carnival Cruise the Mexican riviera and it was horrible even with the suite we hated every moment from embarkation to debarkation. We did that cruise for our teenage son to socialize all he did was read LOL. We have done 4 AMAWaterways trips and loved them but those were river cruises. So When it was announced Viking was doing a world cruise the same day I booked ES1 cabin 4000 put a deposit down and happily called my life partner and she said WHAT ARE YOU CRAZY! She pointed out the horrible Carnival Cruise experience and said what the ^%$& are you thinking. I promptly called the best travel agent and she was yea its a long trip but its the best ocean cruise not a Carnival cruise at all. She suggested a 14 day and I went for the 21 and suite 4000. With that said here we go. First the transfer to the hotel (four nite pre cruise) was flawless and tours amazing in a wonderful hotel. Our guide was awesome picture My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Embarkation was smooth as silk. The room; well lets just say like home. Our steward Mohamed and his team made us feel like we were at home and we wanted for nothing. Never waited in a line and never for want of a pool chair or towel or a drink. Our mornings were greeted by Gregory the Viking bartender, he also woks in the Restaurant, Alway a pleasant smile and makes the best coffee on the ship in fact the best I ever had. He always put Mr Dan and Mrs Lisa on the lids with smiley faces. The food was incredible Ellard and Glen always made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurants. The Kitchen table experience was our favorite shopping with the Chefs in Monaco was Perfect. All tours were amazing and frankly to many to thank we cant think of much to change. What we did not like: The internet is horrible I can fly at 40,000 feet at 680 MPH and get better internet. The TV channels are lacking but movie selection was great. And on departure they had a lousy exchange rate to pay your bill in EUROS and a 3% fee. Were in Europe for gods sake be fair and convenient. Kind of a sucker punch at the end of the cruise. I just put it on my card and got a way better exchange rate and no fees from bank of america. We booked two more ocean voyages with Viking and were looking at that world cruise! :) Read Less

We Arrived in Athens, we did the extension. I think it would be good to be more informative about the options on tours during the extensions. We had no idea that any tours could be booked there, so we did research and booked our own before arriving. As it turned out we did end up booking another tour with Viking that was guided, to the Acropolis. And thank goodness I had booked a "Private tour" for the same thing the next day, that wasn't guided, but since it was Private, we asked to be taken to different things. The lack of information might have been because we went through a tour company and they didn't know. But again, I think it should be a priority for that information to be given out, it would have been nice to have that option. Embarkation was a delight; we have been on two others cruise and it was so long. We ended our cruise in Rome, it was epic. We saw so many wonderful things. The ship was wonderful very beautiful and Clean. Same with our room and our Steward was the best guy, efficient and fast and so nice. The 24-hour room service was awesome only used it once, but the food was great and hot, just as good if prepared right in front of you. The restaurants were so great, wonderful food, all of them. We were very impressed by the quality of the food, and that it was truly all included. On our other cruises the Restaurant's that you had to make reservations for, the optional ones, were more money. The entertainment not so sure about, as we were so tired from our excursions we just wanted to sauna, hot tub, and snow grotto which we did every day and it was wonderful! we did go to one concert and it was nice. The violin players were very nice also. The excursions wow, they were wonderful. I love History and every port there were the best things to do. The only problem was I wanted to do them all. We did do 5 tours that were the included tours and surprisingly they were very good. I figured they would not be so nice, as the ones you had to pay extra for, but they were just as nice. The places we went and saw and learned about, is indescribable almost. We walked where Apostle Paul waked, we saw history frozen in Pompeii, The Acropolis, The Roman Coliseum, and everything in between. We are still in Awe and feel so fortunate to have been able to do and see the things we did. One thing I would recommend is water on the busses. Everywhere we went it was so, so hot. To have a cooler full of water available during the excursions would have been wonderful. We ended up after a few days learning and grabbing two bottles on our way off the ship. However, that was long gone after about two hours. The service was very, very good we felt pampered the whole time. I had to watch myself sometimes because if I joked about oh, I would like this, or that, or something, the next thing I knew it would be in our room or handed to me. I asked for bottled water once at the bar to bring back to my room and after about 5 minutes I was handed two bottles of water. Then he apologized that it took so long. Stating "sorry it took so long I had to run down five decks to get it we don't stock that here", did I mention the service was outstanding. This cruise was we thought A "once in a lifetime cruise" to celebrate our anniversary, 31 years. However, we are already talking about where we have to go next on Viking. Viking has brought our Cruising expectations to a new level. Also, fun fact there is a little museum area that was on our ship telling about Eric the Red a very popular Viking in history, I happen to be related to him. My grandfather has traced our lineage back to him. So, I Told my husband Maybe Viking would give me a discount rate because of this.... My Uncle Eric....again History, History everywhere! We highly recommend Viking! Read Less

I wanted to revisit Greece and the Adriatic (Dalmation) coast, The food was consistently excellent in the buffet ( World Cafe) as well as Manfredi's and Chef's Table restaurants. We had absolutely no problems scheduling the special restaurants, even after boarding the ship (although I recommend that you do so as soon as possible after boarding). The drinks were well prepared by professional bar tending staff. We made use of the land excursions wherever possible, and the tour guides in each locale were courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. The positive aspect of this trip were the ability to learn as well as to enjoy the locales, like Corfu, Montenegro, Dubrovnik and Venice without rushing (although each daily agenda was filled without much dead time). We loved the fact that our ship was not too large or overpopulated (only about 978 passengers max). Ever stop from embarkation to disembarkation was perfectly handled by Viking from a logistical standpoint (in other words, there is no way for a person of average intelligence to get lost unless you are one of those arrogant, entitled people who think you can do do things on your own time frame while inconveniencing other passengers...unfortunately, we met a couple of those on our last night of the cruise. We chose Into the Midnight Sun on the Viking Star because the itinerary was appealing and we find cruising with Viking to be enjoyable. Viking is attractive because their associates are friendly, engaging, sincerely concerned for our welfare and pay close attention to making certain that all details are covered. The itinerary included a pre-cruise option to visit Reykjavik, Iceland. We enjoyed visiting the Blue Lagoon; the national park and its fabulous waterfall; and the city of Reykjavik. Our cruise started in Bergen, Norway and continued on the inside passage past the Arctic Circle to Norway's northernmost point, the North Cape. On the way we visited breathtaking scenic fjords and small villages. The landscape photo opportunities were endless from daybreak to sleep time as there was no darkness. On our way to London, we had relaxing days at sea prior to reaching Scotland's Orkney and Shetland islands where we visited Viking settlements that dated back 5000 years. The final leg of our voyage was exceptional as our large ship navigated the Thames River from the English Channel to Greenwich, London. Read Less

First time cruising with Viking. Won’t be the last. Really enjoyed shore excursions and cruise ship experiences (Spa, Snow grotto, pools and entertainment)! Food was delicious; Manfredi’s was favorite because of its popularity, reservations are required and availability is limited. We visited four countries in seven days. By far, Italy and France were our favorite countries and shore excursions. We enjoyed a Day in Tuscany and Pisa. We enjoyed a wine-lunch with friends on the Canal du Midi and where we had the most free-time, Avignon. We had visited Barcelona earlier this year and enjoyed revisiting our favorite spots in the city for example, the Gothic District, Las Rambla, La Boqueria and something new — Flamenco dance and dinner show. Embarkation and disembark processes were organized, safe, secure and seamless. Every crew member with whom we interfaced was knowledgable, helpful and professional. Many were multi-lingual. Overall, we had a wonderful first taste of Europe and will definitely cruise with Viking again. Read Less

This cruise is fantastic! The only thing I could possibly want is a longer trip! Most people who choose Viking are doing so for the cultural enrichment, that being said all rooms above the Veranda include all the same amenities (Nespresso machine in the room, robes, slippers, etc) so we chose to splurge on things off the ship because the service, food and experience on the ship is fantastic regardless of your room category. The only exception is their bottom category Veranda doesn’t have the Nespresso machine, robes etc. One of our favorite things is visiting with the staff and hearing where they’re from. We were consistently told how much they like being part of the Viking team and it shows in the way they treat the guests. One minor disappointment was the included tours didn’t offer as much opportunity as we prefer so we spent almost $3K in extra excursions (which were fantastic and worth it) but we didn’t initially plan on that expense. We did have an opportunity to go inside many of the other cabins and it confirmed to us that we made the right decision to book a lower category room and have extra money for the places we were visiting. We are already planning our next trip with Viking. Read Less

Always wanted to do a Med cruise and when we saw the itinerary it hit all the spots on our bucket list. What was even better our Nephew and his wife live in Barcelona so we added a couple of nights on the front end to visit and explore the city. We also added nights on the end in Venice. Our cabin (PV1-PENTHOUSE VERANDA) was great and had some nice perks which we really took advantage of. Early shore excursion booking (we got every one we wanted) and early reservations to the specialty restaurants. Also an earlier boarding time which was great. Breakfast was in the main dining room and a buffet, but lots of cook to order choices. There was a specialty buffet every evening and they looked great, however we preferred the restaurants, not only was the food incredible but since we had purchased the Silver Spirts package so was the wine :-) Service was great and you really felt special wherever you were. We had shore excursions in every port and normally the more adventurist ones. The local guides were easy to understand and added great value. We enjoyed the sea day as a time to relax for the rest of the trip. They had a great house band and always ended the day in the cocktail lounge where the bartender always had my favorite drink ready as soon as he saw us walk in. The inhouse entertainment was top notch, great voices and well planned shows. Besides scheduled shows they would also show up in some of the lounges for singing and dancing. This was a trip that cleared a lot off our bucket list. Read Less

This was our first Viking cruise and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We added two days at the beginning and end of the cruise. I definitely recommend the extra days up front because of jet lag. I couldn’t sleep on the plane so when we got to Barcelona, I was exhausted. We were able to see more of Barcelona and Venice by adding the extra days. We’ll worth it. The trip hit many stops on my bucket list. The crew, food and entertainment was fantastic. The daily information about the upcoming shore excursions was very helpful. We enjoyed all our shore excursions. I especially enjoyed Tuscany and Dobrovnik. The guides were very knowledgeable. Our guide for Sorrento and Pompeii switched the schedule so we went to Pompeii later in the day, when it was cooler and no crowds. Made the tour more enjoyable. The ship always had the best spots in port. Can’t say enough about our first Viking cruise except it won’t be our last. Our cabin was very spacious and was always clean. We are looking forward to our Viking River cruise in 2021. Read Less

We fell in love once we were on board. Over the top service and warm compassionate crew and servers. We made some new friends and managed to share some laughs and some tears as well. Since we got the free upgrade to The Owner's Suite (TOS) from our explorers suite, Viking did everything in their power to make magic happen on all levels for our 30th anniversary. Attention to detail at every corner and smiling faces at every occasion. That is until we had to leave our cabin and our steward Olivera behind. She made a lasting impression on us and touched our heart. Olivera would make a great Miss America coach one day as she has the ability to take any humble lady and make her realize why she is special and why she deserves to enjoy every aspect of the cruise including spa and take advantage of all the benefits that come with TOS. A special thanks to Olivera, Wendy, Daniel and Hector for making the private party happen with such passionate care. Special thanks to Manuel for his expert planning at the last minute when one of our excursions was canceled (we were the only ones who booked it). Also special thanks to John at the gelato bar and Sara who served up smiles at the same time she served your Sangria and everything else. We pray one day to meet up with this crew and servers again. As far as the excursions go, we felt that we got more out of the custom tours we planned than the major bus excursions. The Vatican museum was pure madness and we should have booked a private excursion there. What folks should take away is that the included tours are going to be super popular ones and the majority of the other tours will still be popular. Our favorite dining experiences were with Manfredi's and The Chef's Table. The calamari at Manfredi's is light and crispy, and they treat their seafood and meat dishes with respect. Daniel and Hector do a great job with their themed fixed menu at the Chef's Table. On the ship, I found the pools to be limiting but at least with Viking they are not crowded. The heated pool area on deck 1 features a slippery set of stairs that I slipped on and tore a gash in my right ankle which is now all black and blue. My issue was that I presumed if it was a pool step it would be like my personal pool and be a little rough on the step surface. I should have planned better, but Viking could make some additional safety precautions in my opinion. Overall, we would definitely book again, and have already planned our next outing to Australia and New Zealand over Thanksgiving 2020. Read Less
