First Viking Ocean Voyage

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Viking Star

My trip on the Viking Star was fabulous and exceeded my expectations. The food in the World Cafe was exceptional and we ate there for dinner for 6 of our 14 nights. We also dined at Manfredi's and the Italian food was very good. However, the real gem is the Chef's Table--gourmet dining at its best! It's a 5 course dinner with 4 wine pairings. You sit back and enjoy the food experience as ...

I'm a seasoned cruise afficionado, and I can't sing high enough praises about Viking, the staff, the crew, the food, the entertainment, the lectures, the amenities, the activities, and the overall experience. I have never been more impressed with the design of a ship, the ambiance, the level of service, and the variety in cuisine that we experienced on the Star. Our cabin was more spacious and ...

Because of the unique and amazing itinerary, we truly LOVED this cruise! Sailing to all of the very different ports made for a very interesting experience and one that we will never forget. The crew was great, especially the cruise director, Aebhin O' Neill and Jonny the assistant cruise director (don't recall his last name). The entertainment was top notch, especially the 4 Viking vocalists and ...

Our first Viking cruise (17th overall cruise with multiple vendors, global-wide destinations, and 7-35 day durations). We found this to be the most complete and comfortable cruise experience with have had--engaging passengers, superbly attentive crew, amazing food, comfortable room with balcony, rarely a sense of a crowd especially in public spaces, seamless embarkation and disembarkation ...

Delightful Cruise on Viking Star Iberia, British Isles and Iceland

We chose this cruise because of the varied and interesting itinerary. Our only concern was which clothes to pack because of the different weather extremes we expected, but turned out the weather was perfect everywhere. Since Viking supplies convenient self-service laundry facilities, turns out we overpacked and next time we will be more judicious. This was our third Ocean cruise (10th overall on ...

The itinerary was a huge draw for me. So many places I'd never been topped off by Iceland and mixed with lovely visits to old favorites. Plus it was my first Viking cruise and a friend had raved about it. My only other cruise experience had been the Caribbean with island and Mexico stops. Not really my cup of tea, large ships, lots of partying and the constant ding ding ding of the casino. ...

Viking is exceptional. Everything was 5 stars, from the embarkation as well as disembarkation process was easy and efficient. Our stateroom was ready on time, it had nice finishes and amenities. The variety restaurants offered many choices depending on your preferences, the quality of the food and service was great. The staff is very attentive and helpful. Incredible service and staff, thoughtful excursions, DELICIOUS onboard food. From the second we got on the ship, to the moment we disembarked, we were treated with white glove service from every staff member we encountered. The range of excursion options would fulfill every single desire a person may have, and the organization at each destination was impressive. The food at the buffet was ...

Wow - just wow!! All of the food was excellent and lots and lots of variety. The afternoon tea was awesome. My room steward was so professional and very helpful. Kept the room in tip=top shape. The musical offerings were great. I loved the opera in the Theater from the MET in New York. I saw top ship brass out and about everyday. There were lots of ports - lots of walking. ...

My husband and I chose this cruise for our honeymoon. We love history and we love activities, we typically can't sit still for too long. We both have never been to Italy or Croatia. We are so glad we chose Viking, it was a great way to see a lot of different cities in a short amount of time. The excursions were easy to book and the guides, drivers and staff were fantastic. Everything was so well ...
