We chose In the Wake of the Viking cruise because of the route it sailed from Norway across the North Atlantic/Labrador seas to Montreal. And the ports it stopped at during the cruise Ship was always clean and orderly. And staff very attentive. We had excellent cabin attendants. Dining was very good, especially the World dining buffet. Great variety of food and excellent preparation. We were disappointed that we could not book the Pre City - Oslo. Apparently space was very limited so if you didn't book it when the cruise was first offered there was no chance to get in on it. We missed one or two of our port stops because of a severe storm. We were actually in a port, not able to dock and found out that they wanted to get ahead of the storm so decided to pull out. Well we sailed right into the storm and had about 4-8 hours of very very rough seas. Found it interesting there were no overhead announcements of what the passengers should do to remain safe. People were in dining rooms and service continued with dishes/glasses flying off the tables. Quite a few passengers we spoke to thought safety of the passengers was not handled well. The ports/excursions we did get to take were very enjoyable and well organized. We may try an ocean cruise again but only in the Mediterranean region. We have always enjoyed your river cruises.
