We wanted to try Viking Ocean and to see the St. Lawrence Seaway. We also did the pre-trip extension because we wanted to visit Toronto (to see friends) and Niagara Falls.
Even with 900 passengers on board, the ship did not seem croweded There were places to sit when listening to music, and we enjoyed the Explorers Lounge. The common areas were spotless. The thermal Spa is not to be missed. ...
My husband really likes the Viking experience, and we liked the itinerary.
Although I see that no opportunity is provided for negative comments, I will do so here. We were extremely disappointed to be kept "in the dark" about arrangements for our post-tour excursion via train to Oslo. A few days before disenbarkation we went to the guest services and the asian lady with shorter hair would NOT ...
Numb, as in unbelievable, Numb as in over whelming, Numb as in booked another cruise with Viking for next year.
We had seen the TV documentary "Mighty Ships" showcasing the "Viking Sky" and a week later were booked for our cruise on the "Sea", I had Viking do all our bookings for our transportation to Oslo, as well as our Oslo and Bergen extensions. We were not disappointed, as everything went ...
After a wonderful Viking river cruise during which we were impressed with Viking's handling of weather (low river waters) related issues and because my husband wanted to see Greenland, we opted for this ocean cruise, knowing full well that the North Atlantic can be a challenge any time of year, especially fall/winter.
Dorian required us to leave Bergen a day early & bypass Shetlands & Faroes, ...
We chose this cruise because we have always wanted to see Iceland and wanted to go back to Bergen. So this was the perfect cruise for us. This itinerary was perfect as we got to visit Greenland, Newfoundland and Canada. We have been to Antarctica so this was our chance to go to the Artic Circle. The service from the staff was great especially our cabin stewards and Ronald our waiter at Dinner. ...
We boarded the Viking Sea at Montreal on a Friday morning and oh mon dieu, such first impressions. Lined up at the quay, with its prow facing the old port, the ship projected a sleek profile, befitting a vessel built for only 930 passengers. The sense of elegance and style was reinforced in a stroll around the public spaces: clean, straight-lined Nordic design and decor with windows shooting ...
We traveled aboard the Viking Sea on their Eastern Seaboard tour beginning in New York City with stops in Boston, Halifax, Gaspe and Saguenay, Quebec, Quebec City and Montreal where we disembarked. Through Viking, we added a five night package to Ottawa and Toronto. At each port of call, an excursion is included in the price of the cruise. Additionally, there are many other tours one can ...
We chose this cruise because we had never previously been to Norway, Iceland, Greenland, Shetland Islands, or Faroe Islands. We learned so much about the Viking influences on these places, and enjoyed surprisingly good, sunny weather. The only disappointment was not seeing the Northern Lights, but it was probably the wrong time of year. Even when turbulent seas prevented landing in one port, it ...
2 years ago we chose this cruise to followed the path my ancestors( Vikings) took to discover the North American continent. This cruise took us to places that most people will never visit. The cruise introduced us to a world of harsh weather conditions with unique beautiful landscapes, and lots of sheep! We chose a three day extension on the front end of this cruise to explore Iceland. We were put ...
This was our first cruise on a Viking ocean ship after many cruises on Holland America and several on Oceana and the entire cruise was excellent. Our stateroom on deck 6 was a good size with lots of storage space. The selection of shore excursions was quite good and this was a big concern with us as we have been spoiled with the Holland America shore trips selections over the years. The food is ...
