1-10 of 162 Viking Gullveig Cruise Reviews for River to Europe
1) almost no restaurants in the United States serve robusta coffee--the savings isn't that great, and the coffee is just pathetic.... If for no other reason, that is sufficient for my not cruising again on Viking. Moreover I couldn't even drown it out with cream because the cruise only had skim milk (ultimately, the maître d' did purchase some half-and-half--kudos).
2) I have wine with dinner ...
We benefited by a cruise package upgrade and while the extra niceties and space were not required for a good time, it sure didn’t hurt. Every detail was well thought out. The meals were amazing and the beverage service was a highlight. The included tours really help you appreciate the places you’re visiting. Most of the guides were exceptional. We did leave one boring guide to try another and that ...
We were interested in the itinerary and the availability of add-on cities. Everything was first-class from the time we landed at Heathrow and were met with a Viking Rep to takes us to our connecting flight to Budapest. Not having to live out of a suitcase for 8 days while we travelled through Europe is a luxury.
The tour guides in every city were knowledgeable and made our experiences great. ...
Viking helped us select the Romantic Danube river cruise as our maiden voyage. We wanted to visit Prague, Vienna and Budapest and this cruise ticked off those boxes. September is typically a great travel month weather-wise, so September on the Danube it was. Viking handled everything--flights, hotels (we had before and after cruise extensions in Prague and Budapest) and all transports. We didn't ...
We enjoyed wonderful weather, met several great new friends and saw magnificent cities. This will be the first of many more river cruises.
We had planned to go on this river cruise for our 50th wedding anniversary, but were finally able to go in the third year finally with COVID's permission. Many of our friends had been on this and other river cruises and highly recommended the trip. They ...
This was our second Viking tour. We loved the first (on the Rhine) and this Danube cruise was also outstanding. Loved the cities we visited. Budapest was beautiful, Vienna was so impressive, and Regensberg had so much history. The Abbeys, cathedrals and churches, along with the stories of people who built them were fascinating and gorgeous. The excursions arranged by Viking were so ...
This was our 4th river cruise with Viking, 6th with them overall. We are in our late 60s and were traveling with my 92 year old father and his wife. Our itinerary was disrupted slightly the last couple of days of the cruise due to high river levels, impassible bridges, and flooding in Passau. Viking handled everything perfectly, arranging buses to pick us up at two unscheduled stops along the ...
My husband and had a good experience on a previous trip (the Rhine on the Alruna) so the Danube sounded great. The trip was perfect and all our transportation was on time without any late or delayed flights.
Our cabin was so comfortable, very clean and well taken care of. The food was so delicious and we took the opportunity to eat some of the local foods prepared everyday. The excursions ...
We ran across the Budapest to Regensburg cruise at a travel show. Too good to pass up. Air, drink package. We will get into things later.
Our second Viking cruise. The staff was great. Met nice people. We don’t spring for all the extra outings, I enjoy the top shelf whisky in the evenings and talking to people. Food and service top rate. We tip up front for some folks on top of standard. ...
We wanted to see Vienna and Budapest. Every place we went was fantastic and enjoyable. The crew and staff on board were outstanding. Our cabin was very comfortable; we received an upgrade actually. As for the food, there was never a bad meal ever! The excursions were without exception worth our time. We hope to take another cruise.
Some more words are required. All right then, here they are. We ...
