We wanted to see Eastern Europe. The cruise was the most pleasant way to visit that part of Europe. Given the flexible departure/return airline dates we were able to explore both the Vienna/Salzburg area before the cruise and all of Romania after the cruise. We had a long flight to Amsterdam, we were met in the airport by a clearly marked tour guide, which was a greatly appreciated help with customs and baggage. The transport to the ship was on a clean, climate controlled bus right to the pier.
