We preferred to include Prague and Paris on land as part of this itinerary which focused on German towns. Did not realize ship was not at same spot when arriving and departing all ports.
The staff was amazing but there wasn’t enough entertainment after dinner. Piano man was very good but not enough.
The Music Trivia engaging game by team was fabulous. Additional Inter-active activities ...
Our second Viking River cruise did not disappoint. Knowing what to expect this time made packing and expectations easy. Our cruise director, captain and ship manager went above and beyond. Our weather was not up to par yet we couldn’t control that. The ship provided umbrellas for those rainy days and made sure excursions took into account the rain. The cruise was the right mixture of excursion and ...
Chose Viking based on so many good reviews from friends.
Bad start, 1st night. Watery crème brûlée and flavorless salmon.
Food did get better.
Many of the staff were friendly and engaging, but too many were not.
Tour buses on 2d leg of cruise were old and cramped, compared to the first few buses.
Tour guides were amazing.
SUGGESTION: Cruise director (who had a pack on during ...
After reading many reviews of River cruise companies we chose this one for their high marks. We made our own flight arrangements because we had more control over when our flights were ticketed and for about the same price as Viking offered for Premium Deluxe seats. After reading all the negative and positive of letting Viking choose and make flight arrangements even with Viking Air Plus we felt it ...
I loved seeing the castles and wine regions as we sailed through Germany. Stops in small towns with cobblestone streets and gingerbread houses for city walking tours were fun, as was our excursion which included a wine tasting. We tasted authentic German food both on and off the ship, and learned about the country of Germany from expert lecturers.
One aspect that was not ideal were the ...
We chose this cruise because we previously enjoyed the Christmas Markets in Austria in 2016. The cruise started in Prague which had the nicest of the markets and was beautiful from the different periods of architecture that made this city from two hundred and beyond to date. The markets in the smaller German towns were nice and the Meissen porcelain factory was extremely interesting. Our ...
My daughter and I chose this cruise after two wonderful trips on the Rhine and the Danube. I enjoy history of WWII and this trip peaked my interest.
I didn't give this cruise five stars because there was more bus riding than I expected. Long rides. We also spent fewer nights on our ship, which we knew in advance, but took away from the beauty of a river cruise.
We did a pre excursion in ...
The cruise was excellent but there was too much bus travel. In particular, the bus ride to Paris was well over 4 hours after embarking the ship. On board the ship the service by Viking personnel was superb in all respects. The food on board was very good and the ship was immaculate. The included tours were interesting and the local tour guides were well prepared, imformative, and gave ...
We liked the thought of the hybrid nature of this cruise, with 2 nights in hotel in both Prague and Paris. First of all, let me say Viking was not responsible for the heat, or the airline issues many of us experienced in post covid environment that made some parts not so enjoyable, in fact their services were top notch and how comforting it was to be met at the airport by a friendly person in a ...
We chose this cruise because of the beginning, Prague and the end, Berlin. The stops in between were interesting but the travel on the river was boring because this is not a busy river and there are not a lot of cities to see like on the Rhine & Danube. Also, there was not enough time in each stop for individual exploration, which we like to do. This was our 3rd Viking river cruise and we found ...
