This is not a first cruise for anyone. It's a cruise for people who've seen a lot, and want more. The "river" between St. Petersburg and Moscow is a combination of lakes, rivers, and canals. What a beautiful country to visit. This was our 10th Viking Cruise and as always we had a great time. The boat though ok was NOT up to Viking standards though Russia tells them what boats they can use. The ship was a 90 era boat that was updated a couple years ago. But still a 90's boat. The experience itself was very good but the trouble I have had dealing with Viking administration before the cruise and then afterwards because I had an injury onboard and having to file a claim has been incredibly difficult. Because of their indifference to matters of this nature I would be very careful of dealing with Viking again!
