Viking is a premium line, offering food and amenities that are a step above the main lines. We have sailed with Princess, HA, X multiple times and enjoy, but Oceania and Viking are our current first choices. Star is a lovely ship, very clean and well maintained.
Lots of folks talk about heated floor in the bathroom .. sounds like a minor thing, but it is really nice and makes a difference! ...
We chose this cruise because of it's itinerary. On the cruise, we could visit cities in five countries along the Adriatic and Aegean Seas. We were disappointed when we could not get into Koper, Slovenia and Viking did not offer any compensation.
We did take the pre-cruise excursion in Tuscany and it might have been our favorite part. Beautiful villa accommodation and wonderful tours and ...
Previous Viking cruise was great so we tried them again, and once again it was great. From Venice to Athens with stops in Split, Kotar, Dubrovhik and Corfu before reaching Athens. Included shore excursions were excellent and the optional ones were well worth the cost. The effeiciency of the crew in handling embarking and disembarking is top notch.
The dining options are all excellent and the ...
I had cruised the maiden voyage of the Viking Star in 2015 and was excited to sail on her again, with this Venice-Athens cruise. The ship is amazing, the crew is superb, the dining choices excellent, and guides are great. The Penthouse Veranda cabin is roomy and well-appointed. The ports and excursions are handled well, allowing time for exploring the wonders of the regions visited. ...
We chose this cruise because of the itinerary: Overnight in Venice, ports in Croatia and Montenegro, a night to go out in Dubrovnik, and an overnight in Athens. But we were overwhelmed by the thoughtful staff annd the beauty of the ship. Guest Services will go out of their way to make you feel at home. Marc from the Chef's Table restaurant made my day every day with some kind of compliment. Every ...
Great new ship love the staff took great care of us great food Embarkation is the easiest I have ever experienced We chose this cruise because of the places this ship docks and the fact there is an included shore excursion in all ports The cabin was adequate, the bathroom was fantastic. My 6ft1" husband could stand up in the shower!! Plenty of storage space in the bathroom but not enough storage ...
We chose Viking because we had a great experience with Viking three years ago on a Rhine cruise. The cabin was beautiful, but there was nightly work being done on the deck above our cabin that woke us up almost every night. We complained, but it still happened.
Also, upon boarding we had difficulty finding our cabin. When we boarded the river cruise, there was a crew member escorting every ...
We were on a Viking River cruise and enjoyed it so much we decided to try the Viking Ocean cruise. I was concerned over the large number of passengers (920, which apparently is considered small) but we did not overwhelm any port (although that may have had more to do with timing -- April). I know people who were on the larger ships and when 2 or 3 went into a port like Santorini at the same time ...
We wanted to visit Istanbul and Italy and we picked a cruise that would allow us to travel between Turkey and Italy. We specifically selected Viking because they are the BEST! Best food, best service, best ships, best crew, best itinerary, best on board experience and best schedule. Did I mention that Viking is the BEST! Every aspect of our cruise was a wonderful experience. The "basic" ...
We liked the destinations.
We Found everyone on the ship were excellent to deal with, the service was wonderful, especially in light of the fact that our luggage was lost by the airlines for 7 days!
We were not too impressed with the food, I am gluten intolerant and for the choices of food were very limited. When I asked for gluten free pancakes for the next morning in the dining room, I ...
