Well done Viking
"As much as Viking has so many impressive elements to their business, holding the customer responsible for their system glitch at the last moment (we were onboard 2 days when we received the Viking letter in our cabin which impacted an excursion in 2 days time) we found to be petty. In particular, a scheduled and confirmed by Viking excursion back in April - when the excursion window opened, was snatched back by Viking while we were onboard and sailing our itinerary...."Read More

Iconic Iceland and Greenland

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Viking Star

I have long wanted to visit Iceland. The itinerary was outstanding. Captain Olav was very accessible and friendly. Having sailed with Viking, I had very high expectations and encouraged another couple to cruise with me. Having high expectations, Viking did not exceed my expectations. The dining offerings were not as superior as my last Viking cruise. Some of the meat was tough and difficult ...

Iceland cruise in August

We had been on many Viking River cruises but never on a Viking ocean cruise. We were excited to see Iceland while experiencing a Viking ocean cruise for the first time. We found that the included excursions were very basic (e.g., walk around a small Iceland town of 700 people). The excursions that were not complimentary were very pricy, far exceeding what we experienced on Viking river cruises. ...

We heard so much about the beauty of Iceland, so we decided to go see it firsthand with Viking, who impressed us with their River Cruises. The Viking Star was great. Our Veranda stateroom was comfortable and extremely quiet. The service from the staff through the Star was beyond expectations. With our fare we were entitled to specialty dining and found Manfredi’s to be extremely worth our time and ...

Great experience for a first cruise

First Time Cruiser • Age 60s

I learned a lot about cruising from this experience, my very first cruise. The Viking crew and facilities are first rate. The food was good and the rooms are lovely. If you are an older cruising couple with a lot of resources, this is the cruise for you. You will find many people like you, and the outings and onboard activities will be perfect for you. Not being an experienced cruiser, ...

Friends and Family had sailed with Viking (both Ocean and River) all with glowing endorsements. Decided to give V/Ocean a go and we were not disappointed until several of our well planned excursions were cancelled. In particular, a scheduled and confirmed by Viking excursion back in April - when the excursion window opened, was snatched back by Viking while we were onboard and sailing our ...

A Very Enjoyable Trip

My wife and I enjoyed our trip immensely. We ate way too much, but walked it off on the shore excursions. We have 3 Viking river cruises under our belt so this was our first ocean adventure. I do not want to be negative whatsoever, but we really liked the smallness of the river ships. We would meet someone on the Star and then very likely would not see them again. I know on our river trips ...

We chose this cruise since we wanted to visit the Scandinavian countries. It was our first Viking experience and it met all of our expectations. The service was outstanding and the food was extremely good in all the restaurant facilities. Ample activities were offered on board ship. The entertainment was very enjoyable. The excursions were extremely organized. The entire trip was a very delightful ...

Port Replacements for Russia, Estonia and Finland Were Mediocre

We had been looking forward to seeing St. Petersburg but understood why that stop had to be changed, of course, as well as Finland and Estonia. However the replacement stops were mostly unremarkable. We still enjoyed the trip due to the excellent staff who were always kind and friendly making each day a joy. The entertainment was awesome! And the food was fantastic. We also very much ...

Having experienced their river cruise previously, wanted to try the ocean version with Viking. I was not disappointed by the experience. I found the company extremely professional in their approach to just about everything. The organisation/logistics efficiently well managed. Catering on board....great choice of restaurants/food and beverages and wonderful crew service at all times. The cabin ...

Great cruise

We booked the cruise for a chance to see the Northern Lights, and we were fortunate enough to see them on 3 occasions on various days; although not undulating and luminous as one would hope, they were still quite good. Our cabin was comfortable and provided everything we needed. Steward service was outstanding. The debarkation went well and without problems, although the airport did not open ...
