Viking Overpriced and Not Premium

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Viking Star

My wife and I chose Viking because it runs smaller ships and after three years without cruising believed this to be a safer option following COVID. This was our first time on Viking after 30+ cruises with other cruise companies. It was probably the worst. We made the decision to sail from Bergen to Montreal and then a second cruise from Montreal to New York 26 days in all. We saw the best and ...

This was our first Viking cruise. We cruise about 5-6 weeks a year and usually cruise Celebrity but have also enjoyed Royal Caribbean. For a change of pace and because the reviews were good, we decided to give Viking Ocean a try. We booked the 14 night "In the Wake of Vikings" cruise from Bergen to Montreal. Well, let's just say we're not drinking the Viking Ocean Kool-Aid. We do not see the ...

We booked this cruise in November 2016, primarily for the itinerary and small ship and also took the option of the Iceland pre-cruise extension and looked forward to it for 2 years. It was expensive but having cruised before on upper premium and middle market lines we felt that that the inclusions of wifi, included wines and beer and some tours were worth it. Booking from New Zealand meant we had ...

Fantastic boat but Viking has a failing grade

This was our 5th cruise, 3rd with Viking. This was the best boat we've been on, but Viking continues to be plagued with problems. Embarkation was very smooth, as was disembarkation when we finished. Dining: It was extremely difficult to make restaurant reservations ahead of the cruise, with a limit of 1 reservation per restaurant. That didn't get any better when we boarded...one of the staff ...

Very Boring Ship

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and also as we had enjoyed a previous Viking river cruise. Unfortunately this cruise did not live up to expectations. To start with the captain had hit the flood gates coming through the River Thames and damaged an engine which could not be fixed until we reached Bergen. This slowed us down considerably so in some ports our times were shortened. The ...

Our cruise was great, the ship was beautiful, the crew always ready to assist. The excursions for the most part were very good, however some of the local guides were very poor. The lectures and on board entertainment was top notch The pre cruise and post cruise excursions were a waste of money. I will never use this again. If I take another Viking cruise I would plan this totally on my ...
