Viking 15-Day Ancient Mediterranean Antiquities Cruise
"One other big negative is that Viking messed around with our air arrangements (we paid the extra for Viking Air and also the Business Class upgrade) and we ended up with the absolute worst seats on the return flight even though we had good reserved seats for a couple of months before the trip.Even though Viking offers a free shore excursion at every port, we usually selected an option that we had to pay for...."Read More

Fantastic Adriatic Cruise!

We chose this cruise because we've done 2 river cruises before and we enjoyed the Viking experience. Food on this cruise was fantastic. The ship was beautiful and well-kept. The evening entertainers at the theatre were excellent. Our cabin was exactly what we needed. The excursions were great. The scenery was beautiful. Now, I'll provide suggestions to make the trip better. For ...

Great on the water - not so much on land.

We chose this cruise because it covered areas we had not seen and we were anxious to see the Eastern Adriatic and Barcelona. Taking a cue from the questionnaires we were given on the ship, I’d like to review our overall Viking experience. First, our overall experience on the cruise was probably above our expectations, as we had not been on an ocean cruise for a number of years and that ...

This was our third trip with Viking. We previously were on their river cruises. Which were great, everything was wonderful. As usual, the ship was beautiful and the service was FIRST CLASS, the entertainment was outstanding. MY WIFE liked the shops on board, Me, not so much, cost me too much. The evening meals were wonderful, the dining room staff was ...

Lots to love, but ultimately not for us

I'm writing this review as someone without children in my late 30s. I knew going into this vacation that the average age skewed older (as first evidenced by all the stock images in My Viking Journey), so I hope my review might be helpful for others in my general situation. My husband and I are not typically cruisers, but after a long and trying year at work, we needed a vacation where we ...

Almost perfect, but not as great as our first Viking cruise in 2018

We made a poor decision to travel to Europe in the summer, partly because our preferred cruise to Buenos Aires was delayed by Covid for 3 years and we mistakenly believed Viking wouldn't refund our original payment. For that I can never forgive Viking. The cruise was basically fine and uneventful but seriously marred by extreme heat. Our first stop in Katakolon was a disaster - Viking should have ...

Summary of our cruise and the things we felt were good and things we found disappointing

Chose this cruise to try an ocean cruise for the first time and to see the places where the ship would be docked. We really enjoyed the ship itself and how comfortable and smooth the cruise ship was. The restaurants, staff and all the things to do on the ship was above our expectations. The crew was so attentive and caring. The cleanliness of the ship was immaculate and the security in ...

Every Port Delightful

My sister and I chose this cruise because of the destinations, mainly Barcelona and Rome. Every port was interesting and beautiful and the tours we took were very well organized. The Viking Sky was able to dock at each port and we didn’t have to take the time tendering. The ship is beautiful, clean and the service was excellent by every crew member we interacted with. It was nice to have ...

We took our first Viking Ocean cruise last year, and enjoyed it very much! We decided to book another ocean cruise this year, and since we've already seen the Western Mediterranean, we wanted to focus on part of the eastern half this time. We chose the cruise from Athens to Venice, and extended our time in Venice by two nights at the end of the cruise. As always, the food and service on-board ...

Viking is always there

We chose the cruise because it went to Thessaloniki and Crete. Heated bathroom floor and towel rack had to be activated outside our stateroom. That's bad in summer. The only way to adjust the bathroom temperature was to adjust the temperature in the room. Most of the food was good. In the World Cafe, signs did not always match the food. Most serious was putting soft-boiled eggs under the ...
