My wife chose this as many of her ancestors came from that part of Europe. We had a great experience. The staff and service was fantastic and were the friendliest group of people I have ever been around. This was a cruise that I was very sad to see come to an end as we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in an elegant and relaxed atmosphere. Our daily excursions were very organized and very worthwhile. ...
My wife and I had done a dozen or more ocean cruises and 2 Viking River cruises, but we'd not yet done a Viking Ocean cruise. We'd seen how they'd received Travel & Leisure magazines top ocean cruise line all four years they'd been in existence, so we thought we should give it a try.
The ship was just right. Not huge like many we'd been on, but with all the amenities we cared about. Nice dining ...
This was our second ocean cruise on Viking Sea and we wanted to see more of Norway as well as Shetland and Orkney.
We flew into Bergen and were met at the airport as usual by Viking representatives and once at the port, soon had our identity cards processed. We book the basic stateroom which has everything you need including a fantastic shower, a balcony, an extremely comfortable bed and free ...
We went with VIking again because the ocean cruise ship only carries about 900 people plus staff. There are no gimmicks. You pay for the cruise and the only other decision to make is whether you want to purchase the drink package and whether you want to purchase excursions outside those offered by Viking at each port. The Cruise Director is extremely knowledgeable about each port and hosts ...
The ship is a perfect balance of elegance and functionality. The crew was very friendly and worked hard to meet every need. Our Explorer cabin was the best, most functional cabin we've ever stayed in. The Spa facilities and staff were amazing. At sea days we were pampered with massages and enjoyed the spa facilities. The itinerary was fantastic. Interesting islands and towns, and beautiful ...
I was invited by friends to join them on this cruise. Although this was my 8th cruise this was my first Viking experience. I am encouraging everyone I know, if they can, take a Viking Cruise. I enjoyed the smaller ship. I enjoyed all the entertainment and especially getting to know the cruise director, assistant cruise director and entertainers. Everyone was so friendly it felt like all the staff ...
The itinerary was exactly what we were looking for. Having an overnight in Bergen, Norway at the beginning and another overnight in Greenwich, London at the end of the cruise was an added plus. Cruising several Norwegian fjords up to the North Cape over the Arctic Circle was on our bucket list. We also enjoyed our time in the Shetlands, Orkneys, and Edinburgh.
The Viking Sea is the most ...
I wanted to go to Scotland and up north so this seemed like a good choice. We liked going up into the midnight sun and seeing the area north of the arctic circle. The cruise allowed us to take separate outings and yet spend lots of time together. We met lots of nice people our age and had excellent food. We liked the fact that the boat is smaller than usual cruise boats and didn't have casinos and ...
Wanted to tour the Norwegian fjords. Service was marvelous. Ship was almost new. Food was very good and lots of selections. Especially liked the heated bathroom floor!
The self service laundry was very busy.
Liked the fact there was no casino or a photographer who followed you around taking pictures one didn't want or need.
This was, I believe, a cruise for older travelers, i.e., ...
We have been on several cruise lines before, but this was definitely the BEST! They do not nickle and dime you to death...even doing your own laundry was free...the crew was one of the best we have experienced. They were very friendly and accommodating.
The included tours were quick tours around a city to help you get your bearings, nothing extra special, but that was expected. The ...
