"Lost our transfer to the airport from Santiago hotel at the end of our post cruise, because we extended our stay, with one extra day.We also lost a day from our 4 days pre-cruise Rio de Janeiro and Iguazu, because instead of one direct flight, from Iguazu to Buenos Aires, we had connecting flights and we arrived at the hotel at 10 pm...."Read More

1-10 of 18 South America Viking Jupiter South America Cruise Reviews
Pros
We enjoyed the ship and the atmosphere. The furnishing were tasteful and quite comfortable.
Surprisingly we enjoyed the entertainment. It was fun and not over the top. I was not expecting it to be as good as it was.
The service and attitudes were really great.
The Chef's table was very good.
The cabin design especially the bathroom was exceptional.
Room service breakfasts ...
We had only been to South America once; a trip to the Galapagos Islands ten years ago. We wanted to see more of mainland South America so we signed up for this cruise along with two other couples. We had also been on two Viking river boat cruises (both in Europe) and we wanted to try out a Viking Ocean Cruise.
Just about everything was up to the high standards we have come to expect from ...
We hadn’t been to South America so we decided to cruise with Viking. We added the pre-cruise package to Buenos Aires which was very nice! Wonderful hotel (Hilton) . I would highly recommend adding these pre-cruise days. We had wonderful weather for the most part on the cruise. Lots of sun. The ship was lovely. The food was good, but not the best beef. The beef (steaks) were tough. Great ...
Great itinerary, beautiful landscapes!
Cruise service personnel was amazing, friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive to our desires and needs.
Accommodations on board and land excellent.
Nice food selection and presentation.
Very good on-board entertainment, very talented singers, tango dancers shows, the pianist shows.
Very informative and interesting lectures.

We wanted to 1) cross the Equator for the first time by ship, rather than by air (which we have done a number of times), 2) visit the countries in which the ship would dock, as we had not been to many of them before, 3) visit Patagonia, an area in which we had a special interest 4) enjoy the high quality of Viking service for a month.
Sadly, a) because of a very few cases of Covid on board, ...
The fitness and spa areas were outstanding. The massages were top notch, really could not have been bettter. Egor, from Brazil, is the best. The spa area seemed like a hidden, secret oasis. Very, very nice.
Michael, the guitar player was excellent. Comedy/magic show was very good. Speakers did very well - very interesting. The Baggo games, ship building, and trivia competitions were all ...
I first saw this itinerary back in the Fall of 2019 and I loved it. Then came the pandemic and I tried to do this 3/20, 11,20 and 3/21 and all wre cancelled after I had booked and rebooked. Finally the 11/21 sailing was set to go and about 2 or 3 weeks prior, the itinerary was changed. After 2 years of waiting I was not going to settle for the revised schedule so I called and cancelled that trip. ...
First let me say, we always choose Viking. The crew is professional, friendly, and carry out their duties exceptionally. The ship is spotless from top to bottom. The food is very good to excellent. When there is a glitch, it is remedied as well as possible as quickly as possible.
This cruise, for me, was about the penguins! Travelling in the time of CoVid, however, presented some ...
The crew at all levels where charming and professional and made us feel genuinely valued. Cabin, ship layout and facilities were, for us, an ideal balance as were the passenger numbers. Food, although not of Michelin standards was in our view, more enjoyable and the options satisfactory. The negatives are minor in the context of the cruise but could easily be corrected:-
Guests repeatedly felt ...
This cruise was in celebration of my wife's 75th birthday. While we took the Viking Grand European River Boat Cruise, this was our very first ocean cruise. We did not know what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised by the experience. Having nothing to compare with, we were impressed by the size of the ship...900 passengers with lots of amenities and excellent service. The food quality and ...
