We picked this cruise because of its itinerary - "In the Wake of the Vikings" - a northerly transatlantic crossing, and we had to book it a year and a half in advance because it's only offered once a year. (Although, we found out later that a 2nd Viking ship trailed this same itinerary by several days - so much for Viking's communications - more on that.) We did the 3-day pre-trip Iceland ...

Intermittent Sewer Odor in Cabin 8017

We have been Viking fans for many years but this was our first sailing on the Sun. Our biggest issue was intermittent sewer odors coming through the ventilation system (not from the bathroom area). Although maintenance and Engineering attempted to resolve, they did not resolve, possibly because this is a design issue or requires a bigger fix than they could do at sea. Either way, Guest Services ...

This was our first Viking cruise. We cruise about 5-6 weeks a year and usually cruise Celebrity but have also enjoyed Royal Caribbean. For a change of pace and because the reviews were good, we decided to give Viking Ocean a try. We booked the 14 night "In the Wake of Vikings" cruise from Bergen to Montreal. Well, let's just say we're not drinking the Viking Ocean Kool-Aid. We do not see the ...

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and because the Viking Sea was a new ship. We have been on a Viking River Cruise and enjoyed the cruise. The embarkation was easy to move through and our luggage was delivered promptly. We found the ship to be fantastic, beautifully decorated and easy to navigate. No area of the ship ever felt crowded. The crew, for the most part, was be top notch, ...

We choose this cruise because of the itinerary. Let me start off by saying the ship is beautiful, clean, well kept. The crew from Captain through to cabin steward were amazing. Always looking to please and helping with any problems that may occur. Can't say enough about the crew. Now for the negatives. I am a 75 year old senior citizen as is my travel companion. We are very active ...

My wife and I choose this cruise based on the itinerary. It was called "In the Wake of the Vikings". We left Seattle on Seattle on Sept. 15 the spend some time in Norway. We flew through Iceland to Oslo and took the train from Oslo to Bergern; a wonderful trip. We arrived in Bergen on the evening of the 17th with the intent of checking in on the Ship and doing some planned activities. We arrived ...

We chose this cruise for the transatlantic crossing, seeing the Azores, and for wonderful days at sea. The vast majority of passengers where appalling, down right rude, and never out of their back yards. The ship personal and food was nothing more then being at a diner on some back country road. The advertisements produced by Viking was nothing like the experience. The new vessel was ...

First Time Cruiser

As a solo traveller and first time cruiser, I did a lot of research before I chose this cruise. I was impressed that Viking included so much and that it had a good reputation for its crew, destinations, and for its food. The crew were all wonderful especially as I was very sea sick for the first two days. Unlike other times when I have been seasick this took me days to recover. Whether it was ...
