First Viking Ocean Voyage

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Viking Star

My trip on the Viking Star was fabulous and exceeded my expectations. The food in the World Cafe was exceptional and we ate there for dinner for 6 of our 14 nights. We also dined at Manfredi's and the Italian food was very good. However, the real gem is the Chef's Table--gourmet dining at its best! It's a 5 course dinner with 4 wine pairings. You sit back and enjoy the food experience as ...

Stellar 14-Night Atlantic Crossing!

I'm a seasoned cruise afficionado, and I can't sing high enough praises about Viking, the staff, the crew, the food, the entertainment, the lectures, the amenities, the activities, and the overall experience. I have never been more impressed with the design of a ship, the ambiance, the level of service, and the variety in cuisine that we experienced on the Star. Our cabin was more spacious and ...

I was apprehensive about so many sea days but I quickly fell into a relaxed mode and enjoyed the slow pace. Food was five stars every meal. Crew was above and beyond customer service! Plenty of places for solitude or activity with groups. Chef Gary did pop up lunches in the cafe several days and that was a treat. I’m never seen the head chef so engaging and he was delightful. The pool was tranquil ...

A cruise where you feel like family!

We were looking to experience Viking Ocean. I have friends and clients that I’ve booked with Viking but had not sailed on them myself. We love sea days and cruises that have enrichment. You can be as busy as you wish to be or just sit back and relax. There are no water slides no rock climbing walls or children under the age of 18. The food and service were excellent. I have many food allergies so ...

A transatlantic crossing was a bucket list trip. This trip so exceeded any expectation that it's hard not to sound phony. Some standouts: first, the crew/staff - talk about 5 star service, friendliness, thoughtfulness and super polished; second would be the ship itself - great cabin, wonderful public areas (e.g. really well equipped gym), really loved the outdoor infinity pool deck (had lunch ...

SMOOTH SAILING THE ATLANTIC OCEAN

I had never taken a "repositioning cruise" before. I chose it based on the fact that it was 14 days and rather inexpensive, and because it only had two port stops. My travel partner and I both love life on board ship and the port stops are not particularly something we need. This cruise was jam packed with so many things to do on board with lectures, and dance lessons, Trivia, games, shows ...

Reputation of Viking Ocean Cruises and the extended time at sea. We had high expectations of this cruise and Viking overwhelmingly exceeded everyone of them. The ship was immaculate, food was over the top delicious, entertainment was great , stateroom and attendant… the best, and ALL staff on the ship - from the officers to the maintenance people were FABULOUS!!! We left from Fort Lauderdale and ...

A repositioning cruise has long been on our bucket list. It was fabulous, restful, energizing, engaging. The staff rapidly became family. Food was varied, creative, and always so well prepared. Big shoutout to our ‘adopted’ server Gloria, who won our hearts. We loved getting to know Chef Gary and discussing his culinary ideas…such a friendly, creative chef! Restaurant manager Zhora was like a ...

Having multiple Cunard transatlantic crossings under the belt, we were looking at trying something a little different and were pleasantly surprised with our Viking Star crossing and a small ship experience on our Fort Lauderdale to Barcelona sailing. I now see why Viking consistently earns high marks from it's customers - they put customer service at the forefront and it shows. We embarked ...

Viking Overpriced and Not Premium

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Viking Star

My wife and I chose Viking because it runs smaller ships and after three years without cruising believed this to be a safer option following COVID. This was our first time on Viking after 30+ cruises with other cruise companies. It was probably the worst. We made the decision to sail from Bergen to Montreal and then a second cruise from Montreal to New York 26 days in all. We saw the best and ...
