We loved Viking ocean cruise. We would definitely do another Viking cruise. The sightseeing on this cruise was absolutely beautiful. We did at least 2 excursions a day and it was well worth it! Having a balcony room was wonderful. The service from all of the staff was beyond amazing. The free wine and beer with meals was a nice extra to have. We loved how they recognized ALL of the staff at ...
Always wanted to see the Mediterranean countries, particularly Italy. This was a wonderful cruise starting in Barcelona, Spain and ending in Venice, Italy. Viking Cruise Lines was a awesome experience. The ship is perfectly sized at about 930 passengers (not crowded yet plenty of passengers to interact with). Meals were expertly prepared with several restaurant to choose from. We never had to ...
Beautiful ship, just the right size with less than 1,000 guests.
Cabin was roomy with a nice size bathroom. Shower even had a ledge to sit on making it easy to shave your legs! Room steward kept the cabin nice & neat.
Food was delicious! Tried a few of the specialty dining rooms, but the main dining room was my favorite especially since we ate at the same time every night and enjoyed our ...
We had formerly taken a Viking River Cruise and loved it. We found more of what we had loved on that trip on the new trip to Barcelona ending in Bergen. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and were treated to complimentary wine and cake. What a nice surprise! The food was fabulous in each of the restaurants and small eating places. Service was flawless as was the entertainment ...
The Viking experience covered everything!
Our early morning flight to Barcelona arrived early and there was our welcoming Viking Red waiting for us at the baggage claim. Private car transfer to precruise Renaissance hotel and into our room by 9:00 a.m. Talked with the Viking rep about the area and got great local recommendations.
Transfer to ship, panoramic bus trip allowed the Sky and the ...
ABOUT US (for context)
We’re in our 50s, and this was our first cruise together. (I went on a cruise once long ago for work, which was a very different sort of experience.) We did it in honor of our 25th anniversary. We’re somewhat introverted. We enjoy meeting new people and chatting, but we’re also quite content to read a good book or do our own thing. We had put off cruising until now ...
Enjoyed chef's table many nights: a different wine with each course. Also had dinner in Italian restaurant. No extra fee for specialty dining. Shore excursions were included at each port. We were able to do our own thing after excursions in most ports. The cabin was roomy and comfortable. The Explorer Lounge provided a meeting place for evening gatherings with new friends. We participated ...
We joined friends who had been on the Sky from Venice to Rome (port). We absolutely loved this trip. The stops were great, even though the weather was crummy. The crew was the best, especially the happy hour crew up front in the lounge. We liked it so much that we booked a 2 week British Isles explorer trip for summer 2019. We loved the drink package - it allowed us to try some things that we ...
This was our second Viking Ocean... fantastic! We love the ship, it is port-intensive,love the 2 days in port at the start and the end, the flowing wine at lunch and dinner, the heated bathroom floors, the wonderful staff, the mostly great food. We had a great cruise director and mostly good entertainment-- some even great!
We didn't know that this was a repositioning cruise but we believe it ...
We chose the Trade Route of the Middle Ages because of all the countries visited from Barcelona to the add-on of Iceland! It was a long trip and the staff on-board were all wonderful!
The food on board was not as 'regional' as I would have liked but all else was great, including the trips in towns and the local guides.
I especially enjoyed the spa on the 1st floor. From the pool to the ...
