Viking is extremely well organized and the service is for the most part excellent. All of the shore excursion guides were very good for both the included and optional tours--our only negative was that there was not enough time allowed in a number of the museums to see more of the exhibits after listening to the guide's narrations. Tours operate rain or shine but umbrellas are provided. We were ...
Having dreamed of the Viking Homelands cruise for years, we finally had a chance to book after the Covid pandemic was under control. We found no disappointment in the changed itinerary due to the multiple offerings in the cities we visited. Malbork Castle, in Gdansk, was especially impressive due to the rich history involved. We were able to arrange that at the last minute due to extraordinary ...
We chose this cruise to be able to visit the countries it consisted of. We thoroughly enjoyed each country and city. The staff of Viking cruise were unbelievable in service and attitude and atmosphere. Cabins were well tended to. Wait staff was excellent and the rest areas and gym area was well maintained and clean. Common areas always had team members ready to assist or simply greet guests. From ...
We returned from our Scenic Scandinavia cruise on the Jupiter, and decided to pen a few thoughts here. I'll do good and not so good. The not so good part is very small indeed.
Good:-
The ship was beautiful and in impeccable condition. We thought the food was better than on previous trips too. The World cafe always had a good selection, and the lobster and prime rib night was fantastic. They ...
This was an unexpected cruise destination. We had friends going on this voyage and we joined. We are so happy we did. It was outstanding!!!! We added 5 days ahead to Stockholm and leisurely explored the city. On Monday when we boarded the ship, we were greeted with champagne and shown our gathering location should we need to evacuate. Once all that was done, we settled into our room and went ...
This was the 14-day Iconic Iceland -- Greenland -- NewFoundland -- Nova Scotia -- NY cruise. Unfortunately due to a present and unstable ice sheet in the Greenland/Newfoundland area those three stops had to be cancelled. However Viking offered a 50% rebate voucher for use on a future cruise, and added a new stop to Louisbourg, Nova Scotia. That was a pretty interesting port and the free/include ...
Joined my parents on a cruise from Iceland to New York City. Despite not being able to dock in Greenland due to ice, this cruise line is stellar. The common areas are comfortable, cozy and plentiful. We never felt crowded, even on sea days. The staff is impeccable and the fact that we didn’t have to pose for any photographers or dress up for formal nights was fantastic. Would highly recommend ...
We had dreamed of seeing Iceland but many trips are only to the capital. So this was appealing to visit multiple coastal cities.
Our room was spacious and the service was excellent.
When there was a very low percentage of stomach virus cases, they were immediately isolated and treated by the ship medical team, and safety features were implemented to provide washing and sanitizing stations ...
Ship=excellent. Very nice public areas.
Cabin=excellent. Based on videos, the standard balcony cabins had grossly insufficient storage space for us, and we travel light. So we upgraded to a penthouse veranda. Spacious, and more storage space than we could use.
Entertainment=excellent. Initially, I thought it a bit cheesy, but by the end of the cruise, my opinion changed. The shipboard ...
It was my first time visiting Scandinavia as well as my first Viking cruise. I was very impressed with everything on the ship and with the crew. I've taken a couple of other cruises with other cruise lines and I have to say Viking ranks number 1 with me. The only thing that might have been better, if not for the current geo-political issues, is if the ship stopped at St. Petersburg, Russia and ...
