Good cruise but no Holy Land

We chose this for the Holy land component but unfortunately that didn’t happen. Didn’t find this out till one week before we were to depart. We decided to go anyhow and Viking was very gracious with shipboard credits and future cruise credit. The staff was amazing and attentive. No problems at all! Food was phenomenal! We are vegetarian/pescatarian and the chef always worked with us on our food ...

My sister and I had not been on a cruise for quite a few years and had heard about Viking Cruises, so when got a special offer, we decided to go. Everything seems to be planned pretty well, but if we had it to do over, we would have gone a couple days early so we could have visited Rome. Our room steward, Tito, provided very good room service. We always had a clean towel or ice when we needed ...

We wanted a cruise over the holidays for our family, including our son and daughter in their mid twenties. We chose this as we had never been to Athens and our son had never been to Rome. We wanted a family trip over the hoiidays to interesting places and not just beaches. We got off to a bad start with travel complications and rather than arriving at 1:00 PM we did not arrive until close to ...

This was our first time to Rome and Barcelona and we fell in love with the beauty, history and people of these iconic cities. We loved all the ports and wish the cruise would have been a couple of days longer to see more sites. Ship was beautiful, stateroom was great- although we didn't spend much time in it. For us, cruise director was lacking in ability, personality and knowledge. (Please ...

We have been on four Viking River cruises (China, Russia, Passage to Eastern Europe, Windmills and Tulips) and two Viking Ocean Cruises (From the Caribbean to the Amazon and Western Mediterranean Explorer). We make our choices of cruises based on itinerary. We have traveled on brands of ships with 50 and 100 passengers which we enjoyed very much. The only cruise ship bigger than a Viking Ocean was ...

We wanted to see Spain and Portugal. This Cruise fit the bill. We don’t especially like big ocean cruises, so we liked the smaller ship idea. I can’t really fault the ship, but since we have only been on one other “ocean” cruise, it certainly was far better than the ocean cruise we were on previously. Unfortunately, we have been on three Viking River Cruises and found ourselves comparing our ...

I choose the Mediterranean Ocean cruise to take my mother to the Vatican and Europe for the first time. We enjoyed the wine at lunch and dinber and the restaurant and in room dining options on the Viking Star. The King size bed cabins were modern and comfortable as well as the bathroom which had a fairly large shower. Even the public bathrooms were always spotless with calming cheerful bird ...

My wife and I were anxious to try the much touted Viking Ocean. We booked a one week Rome to Barcelona cruise with a three-day pre-cruise Umbria extension. We made our own flight arrangements in order to assure only direct flights to and from. We were, however, obligated to arrive on the day our extension began. Would have preferred to arrive a day or two earlier and meet the Viking guides at the ...

We've been on a Viking River cruise before but this was our first time on an Viking Ocean cruise. We mainly chose this trip because we're familiar with the outstanding service and hospitality of Viking Cruises and to see two sites on our bucket list: ruins in Athens and Jerusalem, and the rest of the sites looked pretty good. It was the first voyage of the Jupiter ship that we were on, so ...

We chose this Ocean Cruise because we had never cruised with Viking Oceans and specifically because we wanted to revisit Florence, Monte Carlo, and Barcelona. As we began planning for and talking about the cruise, friends from our (American) city who had never traveled with Viking decided to join us and friends from Britain whom we had met on a prior river cruise also decided to join us. That is ...
