As always, the service staff was exceptional, from our arrival in Barcelona to our departure at Heathrow. The restaurant professionals were courteous, pleasant and friendly, unlike many of the guests. May I suggest hiring some entertainers and staff from the destinations being traveled. Lack of bonhomie among most staff towards passengers, more interested in talking among themselves than interacting with passengers. Neither my husband or I had ever been to Athens, or to Venice. We have enjoyed past Viking river cruises, and this itinerary had no sea days, which he dislikes. We independently traveled to Athens two days early, a good idea since the cruise does not include any time there.
