Our first cruise on a Viking Ocean ship and we were very pleased. The ship is small and luxurious. It is easy to get around on and extremely easy to disembark at each stop. The crew was very helpful and we loved all the food. The Italian specialty restaurant was our favorite. We got an upgrade to Penthouse Veranda and now that is what we always will book. The extra room and storage is far ...
We wanted a winter get away. This cruise with Viking was the perfect choice. We were treated like royalty. Accommodations were excellent and the staff and entertainment made the trip a success. The process of going on and off the ship was easy and quick. Good food and a relaxing cruise. We also had a fun evening by the pool with the band. We had a movie and then danced under the stars. The ...
This was our first ocean cruise and we could have not selected a better cruise. We hope the ship and spent a lot of our spare time in the pool area, along the walking deck and down by the bar and lounge area. The briefing in each excursion was extremely helpful as was the historical background information.
We loved all the excursions, but we especially enjoyed the Mayan ruins at Altun Ha ...
My husband and I wanted to try Viking. (We've sailed with Celebrity, Holland America, and Oceania.) The itinerary was the western Caribbean, not a personal favorite, but again, this was about warm weather and sailing with Viking. The ship was beautiful in an understated way, soft blues throughout and the use of textures in some of the public places. There was an overall quietness to this ship ...
We chose this cruise because a friend recommended it, and we had a special "two for one" rate. We loved the modern technological enhancements with the cruise: the art work explanations with the use of our iPhones, the retractable roof over the pool area, etc.
I thought that the free use of the spa was great, the included excursions were excellent, and the Viking Band was FABULOUS! We danced ...
We wanted to see the Panama Canal and the other ports of call were also compelling. It was our first time as ocean cruisers on Viking with limited experience on one other cruise ship to Alaska, which BTW we did not enjoy. So going for 14 days on a cruise ship was a bit of a leap of faith on our part. Our experience could not have been better. The staff and the facilities were excellent. ...
We were interested in sightseeing and learning more about the countries we visited. A variety of lectures and included familiarization tours in each port were great!
The Panama canal was spectacular and it was great to have two educational lecturers help narrate the passage.
The accommodations were superb, including a heated floor in the bathroom. Our room was serviced several times a day ...
We chose this cruise because we wanted to cruise the Panama Canal and wanted to stay on the Caribbean side and have more ports and less time at sea. We also, really liked Viking riverboats and the fact that Viking works to educate us before and during the cruise about the food, culture and customs of our destinations. We had two lecturers onboard telling us everything about the Panama canal from ...
Wanted to go through the Panama Canal locks without spending too many days at sea. Perfect for experiencing the operation of the locks. Our prior Viking experiences are with the river cruises. This was even better.
The rooms were exceptional, especially the layout of the bathrooms. Food is exceptional, especially Manfredi's, the Italian food and wine, the service could not be better. We ...
We liked the itinerary and the small ship size. Too bad we had to drop the scheduled port of the Grand Cayman. We had been to Jamaica before and do not much care for that country so we didn't mind losing that stop. We loved the staff--all were super friendly and outgoing. Viking Ocean definitely cares about its guests. We were disappointed with the dining experience at Manfredi's. We ate there 2x. ...
