We wanted to see Saint Petersburg and experience many of the cities included on the trip. Viking has a great reputation, and our experience more than supported this. The historical significance of all the cities, the friendly people, the great onboard talks and wonderful shore excursionsall set the stage for a fabulous experience. We made new friends and had a fantastic time. Truly the experience of a lifetime! The food was fantastic, the service was impeccable. Our cabin was spacious and well maintained. The crew were delightful. All of the varying on board experiences were worth checking out. The dining options were great! Boarding and disembarking were handled smoothly. There were a variety of large group experiences and the option for more intimate settings. The pool spa and fitness center were outstanding. Each port had something unique to offer. Visiting Berlin was amazing, Gdansk and Talon were wonderful and interesting. Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen, and all the Norwegian ports were amazing. Unbelievable beauty and cultural experiences characterize these ports. The onboard planetarium was outstanding, and afternoon tea was not to be missed! Read Less

Great service from Viking during planning stages. Air departure had a problem due to equipment and weather. Viking was able to reroute us in about 20 minutes and we arrived in Copenhagen only about an hour later than originally scheduled. We spent a couple extra days in Copenhagen before our departure and really enjoyed the touring of the city. Boarding the Viking Sky went very smoothly and our cabin was just as described in the cruise brochure. Dining was a great experience with very attentive staff that provided excellent service throughout the cruise. The food choices for dinner were varied and delicious. Shore excursions, both included and those with extra costs, were excellent and informative. The tour guides provided incite into the local culture and history of the sights we were seeing. Overall our experience was excellent and we will definitely recommend Viking Ocean Cruises to our friends. We will be planning additional cruises on Viking. Thank you for such a great cruise. Greeted every time they saw you were very efficient getting what you wanted or needed. The excursions were great and easy to book. Gave a lot of information for you to decide if it was something you wanted to. The food was good had many choices. The kitchen staff were very polite asked how our time out in town was and what we liked the most about the day. Everyone was very informative and interested us. Which is important when you deal with people every day. Everyone stopped to talk and didn't rush off no matter how busy they were. Everything was so clean and kept up very nicely. I would highly recommend this cruise to anyone. I will be looking for another Viking cruise to take in the future Read Less

We chose this cruise to see some new countries and some areas that are more difficult to get to than be sea. The ship was immaculate and the food and staff outstanding. This was our first time on a Viking Ocean ship and we enjoyed the having a LOT more options or locations for socializing with our group or on our own. This gives you time to skip a day on the cruise and just relax while finding plenty of time and space to work out, have a meal on your schedule, or find a quiet place to read and just watch the scenery wherever you are docked. We purchase the silver spirits package and pay for gratuities ahead of time. This makes it truly "all inclusive" and we never think about how much our bill is going to be at the end of the cruise. The spa treatments are excellent but very expensive - though not out of range for what you'd pay at an upscale hotel. Compared to what you'd expect to pay at home in your own town, the cost is double. Gratuities for the spa staff are not included as part of the pre-paid gratuities (didn't expect them to be) so factor that on top of the cost too. The fitness room is a little small but since most people head out on the tours, you can find time to work out. They have a small work out area outside on the forward deck that is not maintained as well (probably because it is exposed). One thing that is disappointing about the ship design is that there is no deck that you can simply walk circles around like a running track to get a longer walk. You have to navigate stairs (or elevator) to make the loop. Food on the ship was excellent and we were able to get more reservations at the Chef's Table and Manafredis after we boarded by constantly checking back as people change their plans regularly. The menu at the Chef's Table changes regularly and many people did not care for the "adventurous" items on the menu (it's a set menu). I think this is more of a demographic issue around the passengers and many prefer more "traditional" menu fare. The wine selection as part of the Silver Spirit Package was better (and worth it) than the included selection but not as nice as the River Cruises. On the River Cruise it seemed to be exceptionally rare that bottle of wine or drink was not included in the Silver Spirits Packages. On the Ocean Cruise, this is not the case. There were still many wines and high end liquors that were above the price-point of the Spirit package This was not an issue for us as we don't typically drink that at home but be aware. The staff was outstanding and accommodating. We ordered room service for breakfast frequently and enjoyed t on our veranda. Our room was made up quickly and was always immaculate and comfortable. Yes, the heated floor in the bathroom is awesome. The rest of the ship was also exceptionally well maintained. Read Less

We have experienced 2 Viking river cruises in the past and have always received top notch service. The ocean cruise did not disappoint. The smaller cruise vessel made the experience more intimate. Our room was more spacious than other cruise ships. As always, the food and service was exceptional. My sister and niece joined us on our trip and as first time Viking travellers they were very impressed with the itinerary, service and quality of the meals. We opted for to take 6 optional excursions and found they were a good value. The service was good on all the optional excursions. The tour guide on the included Corfu tour was unfriendly and not responsive to your questions. She was our only negative tour experience. The sea was quite rough at night on the trip from Corfu to Dubrovnik but not likely something that could have been prevented. We would definitely take another Viking cruise in the future. Read Less

The itinerary was unbelievable ,to see So many countries ! The ship was one of Vikings new small ship ocean liners. A really beautifully layed out ship. The crew was exceptional. I have been on Seaborne and Silver Seas ships which were good but this Viking ship and all aspects of the cruise were exceptional. Of course everyone raves about the food on cruises but this ship made all others pale in comparison. The daily selection were varied and the specialty pool side brunch was outstanding. The one issue encountered a number of times was poorly organization and departure for the shore excursions. I understand this was a new route for this ship and excursion crew so I would expect this to improve ,I hope quickly. I would only cruise on mid size liners and River cruise ships , the thought of a Cruise on a mega ship would not be anything I would consider. I had been on Grand Circle on a River Cruise ,Moscow to St Petersburg and had encountered a Viking sip when we were rafted at a port which peeked my interest in Viking. I would have to say Viking sets the standard with all others far behind. Bravo Viking!! Read Less

It was a Scandinavian cruise and we went to a lot of different ports. The best thing is that the weather held up the whole time we were there and there was no rain and the temperature was quite comfortable, which I understand is not the norm in those countries. We took an optional excursion in Hamburg, Germany to see the Neuengamme German concentration camp and memorial, which was well worth it from a historical point. The Kiel Canal and going through the locks was exciting, as well as stopping at each country. This cruise is well worth it and took volumes of pictures and video. We have been on many different cruise lines in our 54 years of marriage and there is no comparison between Viking Ocean cruises and the others, and this was our second Viking cruise. Viking goes far beyond what is expected and they do not "nickel and dime" you to death like the other cruise lines. Over and above all the amenities you get from arriving to the airport to being delivered back to the airport upon departure, I liked the fact that Viking does not constantly "bug" you to take pictures of you during the cruise, then try to sell them back to you at inflated prices. In fact they don't do any hard sell on any merchandise or push "sales" in the stores through annoying announcements. Your are treated with respect at all times and they make you feel like royalty. If you want pictures, you take them yourself. They also don't perform that dumb "towel art" with all your towels and wash clothes hanging off the ceiling and on the bed at night while you are out of the room. I could go on and on, but you need to experience an ocean cruise on Viking, and you will never go back to any other cruise line! Nuff said! Read Less

Took the cruise with my daughter and her husband. They had not been on a Viking Cruise before and wanted and introduction to the Viking Way. It was a great trip to share time together and see a variety of ports and enjoy various excursions. The staff was very helpful and the food and entertainment was excellent. The boarding process was very easy as was the disembarking. We all enjoyed an excursion in Barcelona to see the Flamenco dancing of Tablao De Carmen while celebrating my daughter and her husband anniversary. During the cruise we enjoyed an Asian Panorama meal at the Chef's table including chilled king crab, lobster and chicken Shu Mai, Peking Duck and a Asian trilogy of dessert including a chocolate banana spring roll, crème brulee and cheesecake. Everything was delicious and served in a lovely dinning room. One of the memorable excursions was a tour to the medieval city of San Gimignano inTuscany. I found some wonderful shopping options and came home with a very stylish leather bag and handmade tea towels. We finished the tour eating some ice cream from Gelateria Dondoli identified as the Best Ice Cream in the World in 2015 and 2016. Read Less

My daughter and I really wanted to see this part of the Mediterranean. It was totally awe inspiring! A trip of a lifetime! Everything was spectacular and very well planned. The excursions were really good too. The tour guides were delightful and enjoyed sharing their information and city of tour. Getting on and off the ship was very easy and efficient. Cabins are well stocked and so comfortable. Food was wonderful. Really so nice that everything is included. They make every part of the excursion wonderful and easy. We have been on other cruise lines which have been wonderful too but Viking is top of the line 5 stars all the way. We stayed an extra two days in Italy and that was so good too! Again, they do everything they can to make transitioning off the ship to the hotel easy and delightful, and, to get safely and timely to the airport for travel home. It was well worth the extra charges to stay longer to explore more of the area and know they would select excellent accommodations.. Highly recommend Viking Cruises and look forward to another one soon. Read Less

It was a wonderful cruise. Spoiled me for any other cruise line. The restaurant food and service was lovely. Much beyond expectations. Our cabin steward was very attentive. The room was very nice and I loved the veranda. The cocktail staff were the best. For the most part, the included excursions were very nice. There were never any lines to get off or get on the ship. Everyone were so pleasant and helpful. That in itself made the cruise so enjoyable. The Jupiter itself was so clean and modern and the Scandinavian interior design was very much appreciated. The live music provided was wonderful ranging from classical, pop, country and western to jazz. The afternoon tea was so enjoyable and relaxing. Our time in Barcelona was wonderful and the included tour provided a nice overview of the city. I think my two favorite ports were Sete and Monaco. The included excursions served as a good overview of the port/city and there was plenty of time to explore on our own. Monaco was an especially nice experience. In Marsalis, our time in the North African quarter was an exploration of signs, sounds, and smells. One nice thing was that in every port, we were the only ship which made for a very nice, uncrowded experience. We enjoyed Piza but found Florence just too crowded and busy. I would definitely sail with Viking again, in fact, it will be hard for me to consider any other cruise line. If you are on the fence whether to sail with Viking, do it. I dont think you will regret it. Read Less

This was our second Viking Cruise. Loved it the first time we cruised with Viking Sea; all went according to what we paid for and what we got. Our Penthouse Junior Suite (PJS 8007) was what we asked for and that was exactly what we got. Based upon this positive experience, we booked a second cruise to New Zealand and Australia. We elected to add a pre-cruise extension in Auckland and love the vitality of the city. The hotel assignment offered comfortable rooms conveniently located to the city's highlights. The cruise lasted about 3 weeks and made all stops as per the itinerary. The ship handled very rough seas fairly well, and the ship's common areas were as advertised on the website. There were many "at sea" days. Meals in the dining venues allowed for decent variety. The restaurants are the same ones on all the ocean ships and, at Manfredi's, we saw the same things on the menu as we'd seen on the Viking Sun. Breakfast in the World Cafe offered a good variety. We saw one or two shows while on board. The Aboriginal show the last night was quite good. Some of the lecturers were outstanding and it was nice to be able to watch them in our room when we were not able to attend the lectures. The crew were helpful and performed their jobs well. There was not enough time in ports to really enjoy the areas. We would have liked more free time. Embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly. The Viking Orion is identical to any of the other Viking Ocean ships which made the entire experience very predictable. Our room was horrible. Our Viking Agent concealed from us that we were assigned one of the two "handicapped' rooms (room 6020) and we only learned about our room assignment until the day before departure. This handicapped room is grossly misrepresented as a Penthouse Junior Suite room. Viking's website contains not so much as one photo for this inadequate room (there are only 2 handicapped cabins on the entire ship). If someone needs wheelchair access, then 6020 or 6021 are the rooms to book. Otherwise, the access to the cabin's deck posed a serious tripping hazard. Furthermore, the room configuration further reduces any usable interior space. Our room had no sitting room (like every other room on the entire ship besides room 6021) and we needed to sit on the bed to watch TV. We needed to bring in the table from the deck whereas all other rooms actually had a coffee table, etc. Viking advertises this "handicapped room" (rooms 6020 and 6021) as consisting of 405 sf. but it is not. We measured the suite and deck; our suite 6020 fell so far short of 405 sq as to make this a case for a serious misrepresentation. The General Manager of our cruise wrote to Viking's head office telling them "we have had complaints with this room in the past" (so Viking had already known about previous problems with these rooms) when we told him about our concerns. He told us Viking would only deal with us when we returned home. Which they did. Just as an aside (and a heads-up), unhappy travelers who decide to settle their claims with Viking are required, by Viking, to sign a non-disclosure agreement with Viking that prohibits us travelers from saying anything negative about Viking or talking about our experiences. Ever. Go through a travel agent. Protect yourself and your investment. Your own personal travel agent is interested in having "you" return as a future customer to whom they will sell future travel business. We also have an official BBB claim in progress against Viking (with photos). Variety is the spice of life. There is little or no variety here. And the more ships Viking adds, the greater is the impact on quality control. One of the two main elevators did not function for the entire duration of our cruise. The main oven in the restaurant did not operate properly one night and the raw fish for dinner was apologized for with free bottles of wine sent to rooms of all those who dined there. The room greatly impacted our ability to enjoy the cruise. Read Less

Main reason for choosing this cruise was the itinerary and length of cruise. First the good points. A great airy and spacious ship, never felt crowded, all crew were excellent, the cruise director Jenna and her assistant very good !!.Food very good, buffet excellent (despited two/three days of G.I onboard meant highlighted hand washing and non serving yourself !) free internet good and speedy, spar (altho closed during GI) was excellent.Cabin altho smaller than expected was kept spotless by excellent steward and helper.24 hr cabin service very good and used !!! Not so good. Welcome at airport by cruise staff was poor and not well organised, they did'nt seem to know what to do and we were kept waiting for over 30 mins,When finally got to the ship no welcoming drink (after 24 hrs travelling ) and no direction where your cabin was,on other cruises i've been on both were provided (hope Viking read this !!) Service at speciality restaurant manfredis, was dire and we walked out, waited 40 mins for appetiser which never came, when I asked why the wait ? server laughed at me !! on walking out the manager was spoken to by me and he offered no reason other than bluster, contacted me the following night to explain they were having problems with the kitchen, pity he did'nt say that in the first place, felt like a poor excuse !! never went near the place, very disappointing, spoiled an evening,DIRE !! Included tours were all the same 2/3 hr run round mostly the same islands on poor transport,on very poor roads. Did three optional tours ,two whale watching which were very good as we saw whales !!,third one on St Kitts railway a complete waste of money and time, saw three bridges !!! and lots of grass, and some chap shouting at us for 2 hrs . For what I consider a expensive cruise I did'nt think I had value for money and will hesitate to use VIKING AGAIN. Read Less

We booked this cruise in order to coincide with our daughter's holiday break. She is a professor at Tex A&M and was visiting Egypt with her husband. They joined us in Rome for the cruise. This was our sixteenth cruise, and second Viking Ocean one, having just been on a 14 day cruise on the Orion in SE Asia. Overall, we found the service and quality of the facilities on both to be outstanding. Perhaps the most noticeable difference on this one was the very slow service in both of the specialty restaurants. Everyone loved the understated Scandinavian design and relaxing public spaces on the ship. We were all attracted to the itinerary, especially the port call in Algiers, and were not disappointed with that stop. The tour to Tipasa was outstanding! Unfortunately the weather and holiday season conspired to put dents in some other port calls. Naples on the first of January meant everything was closed, including Pompeii. Nevertheless, we spent a second day there as the forecast for strong winds convinced the captain to cancel the next port call in Trapani, Sicily. Kudos for the ship's doctor/staff are also in order. My son-in-law became suddenly very ill during our day in Valencia, and the ship's doctor was exceptional in providing a thorough exam and recommendations. Without his insight, we could have arbitrarily been directed to have him treated in the city instead. All things considered, this was still one of the best cruises we have enjoyed. Read Less

We had done a Viking River Cruise and we were looking for a Viking cruise close-by. We drove down from Orlando, everything went well getting on board and of course the customer service was wonderful. The entertainment was also surprisingly good. What it was lacking was: 1)variety at the locations/islands, like an included day at the beach would have been nice, the 3 included tours were all of ruins, and maybe a little more time in Cozumel, we were hardly there, 2) a little better with the communication and care of us when we are off the boat, when we were on Viking River it was amazing how well they took care of us, but on this trip, the first tour was during lunch and it wasn't made clear that no lunch was being provided and there was no real place to grab lunch, which was a real issue since my mother and I are diabetic, luckily I had enough snacks to keep us from having a sugar crash, but it was really close, 3) on the Viking river cruises the do a few meals to celebrate the locations we were visiting, but there wasn't anything like that on this cruise, 4) the shops on the boat, I would think you would have at least one shop with things that match with where the cruise is going, like items for a Caribbean cruise. I will have to say you can't beat the rooms, the balconies, and the customer service on a Viking boat, but the rest of the trip was a bit of a bust. Read Less

My wife and I are very experienced cruisers having been on more than 35. This was our first time on Viking Ocean Cruise line, Scandinavian and we were impressed by their very high ratings on River Cruises.and the fact they only carried a maximum of 930 passengers. Check in was a breeze with 6 or 7 receptionists waiting for us instead of long lines. It is considered a luxury cruise ship and as such commands a very high initial cost for the cruise which must be paid in full much before the cruise embarks. However, this is partially compensated for with many inclusions not permitted on other cruise lines. We were permitted to bring alcohol aboard the ship. They also included wine and beer with all meals and excursions at each port of call. While onboard my wife and her our friend Ann went to a cooking class with the executive Chef of the ship and he liked them. There were two special dining venues THE CHEF'S TABLE and another upscale Italian restaurant. We were supposed to go only once during the cruise but because of the connection my wife, Nela and Ann made with the Chef were permitted to go 4 times, where he prepared his specialties and served them. They were absolutely amazing and I've never had better food on any ship. For an additional charge you could choose other excursions customized to your interests. I chose one on Cozumel said to be the 2d largest barrier reef for snorkeling, 185 miles long which was disappointing as I had expected a wall but found only scattered limestone reefs with only smaller colorful tropical fish. I saw no predators like sharks, barracudas or even sting rays, that I had seen snorkeling and Scuba diving. Though the personnel were very friendly it was not well organized. In the middle of the sea they required half our passengers to climb onto a boat that pulled alongside. I'd not recommend that excursion. However one excursion we went on was exceptional and I'd highly recommend that in Mexico called SALSA AND SALSA in which my wife I and two friends, first time cruisers were taken on a couple buses to a 2d floor high ceiling open air room in a hotel and sat at tables for 10 with many vegetables and a musher, which is a small dish with a rough bottom and a pestle for crushing and mushing the vegetables with various recipes into different Salsas. We were provided aprons, Chef's hats and unlimited. Margaritas and ingredients to make more. Our hostesses were two young Mexican girls in their 20's full of enthusiasm that kept things going. After eating varied Doritos and Salsa and too many home made Margaritas where we lost count the tables were removed and the floor cleared for dancing the SALSA. I would never call myself a dancer but after 6 or 7 Margaritas figured nobody cared and did my best. We all left totally sated, happy and ready to recover. The entertainment onboard the ship was very limited in variety and elaborate productions but made up for it with extremely talented musicians and singers. There was one quartet of 4 British singers that performed on 3 different nights once emulating ABBA, then BEATLES and finally 60's music. I talked to a few of the performers afterward and found they were not a professional group but were hired individually and the group would disintegrate after the cruise ended. It made me tear up thinking so beautiful would end. Even our Cruise director was a former professional Opera Singer with a voice so perfect I asked my friend if she wasn't lipsyncing and he assured me she was not. She was amazing at the New Year's celebration party. On board I enjoyed their lectures particularly one on Catapults showing how very ineffective walls are, no matter how strong or well guarded. The gym was small and basic but had all the essentials for a good workout. I liked the Steam, Sauna and Ice room. The ice room was a real treat. Short periods of stress are good for your health and excessive amount can kill you. In summing up overall I'd say this cruise was exceptional and one of the best I've been on, though expensive. I've been on more moderately priced ships that were very good and can honestly say I've never been on any vacation I did not enjoy though some more than others, so in the end you'll have to decide what you want for yourself. I always consider price an important factor when deciding on a service or product. I was an accountant by profession. I like quality at a reduced price. That what makes a good value. If you want everything to be nearly perfect and are willing to pay top price VIKING is a choice, you won't be wrong with, but if you'd want to go on two or more cruises on a less expensive ship for the same price, then Princess or Celebrity are excellent ships. I wrote this review for Cruise Critic not Viking Ocean cruise line because I read Viking's terms and conditions in which they stated they can edit comments possibly making my review Fake News instead of the honest one I wrote by editing out anything negative. I said, but believe cruise critic will condense it with my concerns to its essence. I hope this has been helpful. Paul, an experienced cruiser. Read Less

The steward was very attentive, and the mini bar was filled with our requested tonic water every day. Everything was first class, service was amazing, food delicious, ship was spotless, beautifully decorated, excursions well organized and interesting, and educational port talks in the evenings. I would love to sail with Viking again this year, but am having trouble finding availability within the next 12 months! The only thing that would make the ship better is if they had rooms for more than 2 people (think moms and daughters or a group of 3 friends, not everyone is a couple), and if two could travel with separate sleeping space. We were in a suite which was huge and lovely but we had to have them move one of the twin beds to the living room so we could both sleep peacefully. First Ocean Cruise with Viking after 4 river cruises. Very intimate for an Ocean Cruise. Food was better than river cruises as was the entertainment. The formal production shows were still pretty hokie but the musicians that played around the ship each night were awesome. I really liked that you had dining options and that included not only where you ate but when you ate. The ship was tastefully decorated and there was more than enough space for everyone. Nothing ever seemed crowded. We have taken over 10 Ocean cruises with other cruise lines (Norwegian and Royal Caribbean) which ranged from just OK to pretty good but none of them compared to our Viking Ocean Cruise. However, while it had some advantages over the river cruises that we have taken, I still prefer the river cruise experience. Nothing beats being able to walk off your ship and be right in town and the views while cruising are so much better when you are on a river as opposed to being on a larger body of water. Read Less

Food in dining room was very good, specialty dining was excellent, World Café could have been better. Excursions could have been better, on some you spent more time on the bus than being able to enjoy the sight you were visiting. This was our third Viking cruise, and needless to say they are great people. Our son and wife had a very enjoyable cruise. It was especially great , since their grown children enjoyed it immensely. It was our son & wife's second Viking cruise. Everything went very smoothly once we were aboard the ship. We had airline delays due to weather & mechanical problems. Flying is not as easy as it used to be; it has become stressful. But the Viking cruise definitely distressed us all. We highly recommend the Viking cruise line! Read Less

We wanted to see some of the Med coast and to visit Tuscany and were happy with prior Viking River cruises so we gave it a shot. Weather was cool but not really chilly and the seas were basically calm except for part of one evening. Very efficient meet up in Barcelona airport - certainly not a real busy place at about 8:00 am. Boarded the ship efficiently a little before the 11:00 am access to cabin on deck seven. Hung out in Mamsen's until cabin opened. Very relaxed and server was very pleasant. Cabin ready on time and was clean. Steward was very nice and showed us the features. He continued to be very helpful through out the voyage.. Liked the convenience of deck seven - very few cabins and virtually no traffic in the hallway. Very easy to get to World Cafe as well as to Explorer Lounge (there is a door from cabin hallway to the port side of the Explorers' Lounge. Liked the PV2 cabin - shower is very nice sized and twin sinks is nice. Having two TVs on ein bed area and one in sitting area, separated by very nice room divider curtain was very nice. Disembarking for excursions was handled very smoothly and without too much of a wait. Read Less

Love cruising with Viking so wanted to take this cruise with them. This was our 4th ocean cruise with them. The ships are spotless. The crew is friendly and polite. You can rely on them. The rooms are larger. Bathroom larger. Every room has a lanai. Loved our cabin boy. Anything we needed, he got for us. The food was excellent. All freshly cooked. No preservatives. The lectures were very good but I would have liked more entertainment. Playing Trivia was not my cup of tea. A 22 day cruise needed more to do. The shore excursions were well organized. Our guides were knowledgeable and spoke good English. Not like some places. The poor countries were a little depressing but we knew that would be. We were lucky to have sunny weather. The fact that it was Central America, it was extremely hot and humid. We wanted to visit Cuba and travel through the Panama Canal. Each country was so interesting. Read Less

Wanted to visit friends in Barcelona and coupled this trip with seeing them after the ship docked there. Good ports -of-call with interesting sights to see. The only issue was the weather, which we had hoped would not be a major factor. But is was. Lots of rain in this trip. The ship provided many great tours. The staff were attentive and friendly. The entertainment was super. Enjoyed the tours, which were both educational as well as interedting. One tour had an inexperienced guide who miscounted at the meeting place and left us behind. This made for a difficult time for us. We enjoyed meeting new people in the ship and touring the kitchen and Bridge were a real highlight. The food was exceptional and varied. The restaurants were terrific and the food was fantastic. We did not make it to the Italian restaurant as we did not know about it at first and then found it was booked solid. This speaks for itself. The ship was beautiful in every way. We enjoyed the seafood meal on the upper deck near the pool and went to several 4 o’clock teas. This was relaxing and fun. Thank you. Look forward to the next cruise! Read Less

Had been on a prior cruise and enjoyed the experience. Staff is courteous, friendly and helpful. I thought the buffet food was as good as the food served in the restaurants. The one exception was the italian restaurant in which we had an excellent meal. We also appreciated that we were in a ship w/less than 1,000 passengers! Everything was up to date. Loved the information we could access on room television. We did not take advantage of the ship's entertainment activities as we did as many tours as possible. Although I loved the Beatles show! We only had one disappointment during the entire week and that was the stop in Morocco where the guide was not helpful at all when we were trying to go into town. Out of the week that is not bad. Really enjoyed the whole experience in Marseilles a city I would not have chosen, yet it proved to be enchanting. Loved the xmas markets. Read Less

We chose the Mediterranean Odyssey 12-day cruise because of the itinerary offered. All of the ports were cities/countries we wanted to visit. Our cabin was large, impeccable and very comfortable. Everyone from our cabin steward, guest services, bar and restaurant servers, etc. treated us like royalty. We enjoyed the opportunity to dine casually or fine dining in the other restaurants. We had a great selection of entrees and wines from the region we had visited that day. We also enjoyed the diversified evening entertainment and music. Our shore excursions were included in the cost of the cruise and were well planned and on-time. My only complaint is that sometimes we didn’t have much time after the tours to explore and shop or eat as we had to shuttle back to the ship. We enjoyed the intimacy of cruising on a small ship and would highly recommend VIKING for your travels. VIKING is top notch from embarkation to disembarkation! Read Less
