We have over 40 cruises under our belts, but this was our first Viking Ocean cruise. The ship and furnishings are beautiful with plentiful public spaces in which to spread out and relax - crowding was extremely rare or non-existent. Staterooms are comfortable with roomy bathrooms (and heated floors!). Food quality and choice of dining venues were generally excellent. Crew was consistently helpful ...
My review of the Viking Sea…it was bigger than I thought…nearly 900 people. I got spoiled on the other Viking with the River Cruise of only about 150ish…and the Celebrity X which I absolutely loved. The room we had was very worth it size wise…the veranda was nice, the service of the cabin was excellent, and the storage area was HUGE…there were drawers everywhere. I used the laundry for the ...
Panama Canal cruise with Viking is the best cruise I have ever been to by far.
Buying cruise and after sale communications - A+.
Ship Mars - A+. New ship feels like NEW. Great design, smooth sailing.
Stateroom - A+. Spacious room with balcony, large bathroom, fully equipped.
Food - A-. Buffet on the deck 7 and The Restaurant on the deck 2 are both outstanding. Specially restaurants on ...
We lived in the Panama Canal Zone in the 70's and we wanted to see changes & revisit memories. The canal part itself was great, partly because we went early to explore on our own, which we did at both ends. The transit was great. I guess due to transit times or restrictions, we were sad for our fellow passengers that they didn't have time for excursions on both ends. To see things on the ...
Panama Canal ,our bucket list. Most of the shore excursions were interesting, The ruins in Belize, and seeing Costa Rica , Colon,& Roatan, were ok. ATV s in Cozemel are more our speed. Most of the sites were geared to people with limited mobility. Was hoping to see more religious sites and churches as most of Central America are Catholic. Also most of the guides were very knowledgeable. Would have ...
Overall, our cruise was very good. We were somewhat surprised at the number of older guests on this cruise. Viking does not control this so there is no blame. It was just that some of the older guests were rude and very “pushy”.
Having been on several Viking river cruises, I will admit the food on this ocean cruise did not quite measure up to the quality and variety of food we had on the river ...
For a first-time cruiser, the Viking Line exceeded my expectations. The crew were unbelievably friendly, professional and offered exceptional service with class. The ship was beautiful with room to socialize comfortably and meet so many wonderful people who are now friends. The food was excellent with a lot of variety and the cabin was very large and comfortable. The only downside was the ...
What we liked: Everything Viking did was great! The ship was modern, spotless, right-sized....just an overall wonderful ship. The staff and crew were very friendly and always willing to help. We always found something good to eat and gained the customary poundage. The destinations were fabulous on this itinerary.
What we didn't like as much: Sea days were somewhat boring. Yes, we could ...
We had sailed with Viking twice before, river cruises. Our room in the ship's stern afforded great views with a nice-sized balcony. Our room attendant, Danika, was wonderful to us. I cried when I said good-bye to her. I will say the positioning of bed on top of the closet's entrance, made things difficult when both of us were trying to retrieve clothes. We both found that food on river cruises ...
The main reasons for choosing this cruise was to sail the English Channel, North Sea, to visit Normandy, and to see the Rock of Gibraltar. Our stateroom was fantastic. Comfortable bed, plenty of room for a cruise ship, and a nice veranda with great views. The staff member looking after our room and needs was fantastic. She had a great personality. We met some nice people on the ship. The food was ...
