I love Viking and I love the amenities of their ocean ships. This was my 3rd ocean cruise and I was disappointed in the decline of service in the restaurant, bars, and tea room.
Servers either didn’t take my order except after several requests or took my order and never returned or brought only a partial order.
I was never asked if I wanted a cocktail in the pool area or lounge where drink ...
After reading all the advertising from Viking Iwas getting, we decided to book that 14 day transatlantic cruise from San Jaun to Barcelona. Being aways for that long with 8 sea nights seemed wonderful. This was our 14th cruise, and first Viking. In the past we sailed on Azamara, Holland America, Celebrity and Royle Carribean. Here are my thoughts after being back a day...
Embarkation - was ...
We are experienced cruisers in our early 70s yet on this cruise we felt positively young. Although we enjoyed the company of many passengers, the feeling we got was that we were sailing in a WASP old people’s home.
Embarkation with flights arranged by Viking has us arrive on the ship at 11 pm. We had to find our our way to our rooms, not shown any features of the room and felt very not ...
We chose a Caribbean cruise to escape the British winter. This was our first Viking cruise.
The flights we were allocated by Viking meant that we arrived into San Juan airport around 2300hrs.
On arrival at the ship we were left queuing and waited on the gangplank for 10 minutes. Following this we then had to queue at guest services to complete check in. There were 2 staff running check ...
Thank you, Cumbrianglobetrotter, for sharing your experience with us. Your kind words about our onboard staff, particularly towards the individuals who stood out to you, are truly a testament...
This was our second Viking Ocean (first was in 2019) , but we have been on Seabourn , Azamara and Regent, so at 900 guests , we consider this a "larger" ship. The guests were 90 % Americans , with only 36 Brits.
Whilst the ship is impeccable, not a spot of dirt or rust anywhere , we were less happy with a couple of areas that are important for us, and felt these had deteriorated since ...
Thank you, alan5151, for taking the time to share your experience with us. However, we're sorry to hear about your disappointment with our onboard dining and entertainment. Should you wish to...
We had originally booked this as a Cuba cruise (until Trump put and end to that) but decided to stick with the booking after Viking offered some decent incentives. I love cruising having previously sailed with (Oceania x 2, Norwegian x 2, Celebrity x 2, Disney, Holland America, and Princess). We have sailed everything from the 4,000 passenger Norwegian Bliss to the 650 passenger Oceania Nautica, ...
We were on the West Indies Explorer cruise and enjoyed every port- no sea days. This was good because they closed all of the pools, hot tubs, steam room, ice grotto, sports courts, locker rooms, and self serve buffet for over one third of the cruise due to an outbreak of the norovirus. No raw sushi or smoked salmon either. This was very disappointing but understandable in order for them to try to ...
We chose to travel on the Viking Sea (10 day cruise) from San Juan, Puerto Rico to San Juan, Puerto Rico, because we liked the look of the itinerary, and the fact that it has been voted the top cruise line for the last 4 years.
We were amazed by the ship on embarking. It is a stunning, beautiful ship decorated in a Scandinavian style. Our first reaction was that this was going to be a wonderful ...
I had such an incredible experience when I was on the Baltic Sea cruise in July 2019. It was my first experience of a cruise ship, and I decided that I would only travel on Viking.
Unfortunately, the Caribbean cruise was a great disappointment. I chose this particular cruise so I could visit the Chicken Itza Mayan Ruins. Unfortunately, because the ship had "technical difficulties" the ship did ...
We selected this cruise because Cuba was originally on the itinerary. Through no fault of Viking, this port of call was cancelled due to a change in government policy. We still kept the reservation, as we wanted to visit the Central American places on the itinerary, as well as part of the Panama Canal. We knew we had some days at sea, but because of winds and rough seas, in addition to the Cuba ...
